Penn State jumps to 5th!! We had the 2nd fewest number of wrestlers entering the tourney too!

Ohio's rascally Bobcat mascot was at it again this week, charging the mats at the championship tournament and taking on all opposing furballs. While his showing didn't count in the official standings it did seem to put a charge into dustin800 and Nate the Great, who have moved to the top of the leader board, overtaking Iowa State by a half-point. Can't get any closer than that. The upcoming placing matches will carry a lot of importance as a handful of teams continue in the team title chase.

Team standings have been updated through today's results...I will update them again, along with brackets over the weekend.

Iowa State has regained its lead, charging ahead of Ohio by four points in the latest installment. Other contenders Purdue, Oregon State and Fullerton State will need to pick up some key rounds in the next few rounds to stay in the chase.

All brackets have been updcated, too and any current matchups are going out momentarily.

Iowa State has picked up a few key wins to extend to an 11 point lead in the latest standings update...I've also updated each of the consolation bracket links (since that's where most of the recent action has been), and have added a breakdown of placing bout matchups per weight class...this can be found under the scoreboard, and will be updated as wrestlers are slotted into spots for the final set of matches.

Iowa State is clinging to a 7-point lead over Oregon State...fresh bouts sent out where needed...we should be filling up the placing-bout sheets this week and getting the final phase of this tourney underway perhaps as early as the weekend. Good luck, all.

We have a new team leader with Oregon State charging to the front of the pack by 6 1/2 points thanks in large part to dcc1220 with a series of big semifinal wins. Go Beavers!!!

Iowa State trims the gap to four points on leading Oregon State in what should be a wild finish in the placing bouts.

Three of the 10 weight classes are now ready for placing 141, 149 and 184...I'll wait a few more days for some more to get loaded up, then we'll start off on those 7th place bouts, and start working up the ladder to the championship matches.

Championship bouts go out Thursday morning...

hoping to stagger them a bit, to build up to the big title bouts which carry the most weight.
