Ah, honesty... it can be shockingly hilarious at times...

Well of COURSE you don't spread the butter with the bread knife...you clearly deserved it. <grin>
To this day, every time I cut a slice of bread, I smile as I spread the butter WITH THE BREAD KNIFE!
I think I can understand that.

Stop worrying then you will get a good nights sleep. If your mind is clear before your bed time then you'll fall asleep no problem... then again who needs sleep really? Sleep is for the weak.

Mother of pearl! You should switch some of that stuff around...

You get approximately 9 hours of sleep (1 hour between 5 and 6 AM, 1 hour between 9 and 10 AM, 2 hours betwene 12 and 2 PM, and 5 hours between 5 and 10 PM) - if it's any consolidation, I get between 6 and 7 hours of sleep (granted it's all at one time).

So, maybe sleep 9 hours and then do your work, go to work, etc.

Just had a 2 hour nap in the middle of the day. I have now decided sleep is not for the weak, it is very enjoyable :) .

Woodruff wrote: 1) Fall asleep by either watching television or reading...basically by distracting myself enough that it just happens. The only flaw in this plan is that with reading, if I'm particularly into a book, I'll find that it's 6:00am and I never fell asleep because the book was too damn good. That doesn't seem to happen with the television though.
+1 ...reading good and inspiring books is the worst thing you can do besides drinking. sleeping pills and some dope + crappy TV works for me.

Reading a text book actually works for me. If you're awake, might as well use that time productively and if you're tired - the boringness of a text book can send you straight into the land of nod.

My wife (who is notorious for waking up and not being able to get back to sleep) will usually read at that time. So, she'll get up at 1 AM and read until 4 AM (usually an interesting novel). She will generally finish books in a few days doing this. Well, she's reading an FDR biography right now and she's sleeping a whole lot more (and not finishing the book as fast as others). Her explanation - "It's boring." So, another example of boring books helping to put one to sleep.

Sleeping is a bit like surfing. The feeling of sleepyness comes in waves. Dont go to bed until you feel sleepy. If you read in bed then keep reading until you feel sleepy and ride the wave when it comes. If you miss the wave the feeling of sleepyness ,eg eyes getting heavy ect, will come back in about another 15 or 20 minutes. Dont try to sleep until another wave of sleepyness comes by.

Think of sleeping as catching a wave. Trust me it works.

Also taking magnesium can help. Its not a drug and it helps me.

She must have a filtered FDR biography.

She's not a fan of history would be my explanation. That begs the question as to why she is reading the book in the first place.
