The news just got worse for Gonzaga fans. VOL has announced that he will return as the coach of the Bulldogs, but not the Bulldogs that Zag fans were hoping.
VOL will not return as coach of the Gonzaga Bulldogs and has instead taken the coaching position for the Butler Bulldogs. The news comes on the heels of their Sweet Sixteen loss last season. The Zags were beaten in that round despite being the number 1 seed in The West and spending more weeks as the number 1 ranked team in the nation than any other team.

VOL's New Settings: Flat Rate, Adjacent, FoggyReached for comment, VOL said this, "As a rookie head coach, I led Gonzaga to a 27-9 record. It was a magical season that ended in great disappointment. But I am very satisfied that although I lost my match-up basically on drops, that the regular season and post season format changes will eliminate further such occurrences."
VOL added further, "I would love to stay and try to build a dynasty at Gonzaga, but the opportunity at Butler is an opportunity for me to clear my mind and restart fresh."
VOL further joked, "I think it's good to get out (of the WCC) now anyways. My team went 14-4 last season in the West Coast Conference (including the conference tournament) and I'm sure there are plenty of coaches that will be quite motivated to beat me."
The coach leaves with a 23-8 regular season record, a 4-1 postseason record (2-0 in the conference tournament and 2-1 in The NCAA Tournament) and 27-9 record overall in one season at Gonzaga. There is speculation that his newly hired assistant coach, patrickaa317 will be his successor.
