Naxus' claim and the fact that he used his action on a dead person, as well as colton's claim that Naxus was lying makes Naxus's claim very suspect.
That being said, the role Naxus claimed is a confirmable role, as if he is telling the truth, the action should be visible during the day.

If naxus was a hider, I don't know why he would lie about that role. If naxus was a mafia hider, I also can't see him lying about being a hider.
Then again, colton would have no reason to lie about his action, unless he was a lyncher and naxus was the lynchee. Colton's nameclaim also seems legit.
I think the most likely possibility is that colton's ability got redirected.

There certainly is a lot of unforced claiming going on early on in a game. I know I haven't played in a while, but seems to me a bit paranoid to start claiming things this early, especially things like "I tried my action on someone, but they got killed before it worked, booz0rs", and "I tried it on this one guy, but it didn't work, and I got his ability, except it's not his ability, so somehow someone else targeted the SAME PLAYER (like, maybe, 3 of us all did LOL WUT?!) and I got some third party ability! Cool huh?" I'm suspicious of all of these claims, because I don't see the point in it just yet.

Yes well, his method would have discovered exactly what your powers were, one could argue that it is a much better role then a cop for investigative purposes.naxus wrote:i claimed who i targeted to clear up the above statement against me. Re: X-Men Mafia - Day 2 begins! 1 replacement needed
Busdriver is the common term for this and I have seen it on a few ocassions become a useful way of diverting a mafia kill away from a town power role. Other than that it's rarely a good thing to reveal information about your role until you are at risk of being lynched and need to claim or your a cop who's found scum, even then being safe and making sure you aren't paranoid first is a good idea. Mafia may know who each other are but they do not know any information about who's who specifically outside their own circle or what abilities certain people may have. Giving mafia hints about certain abilities that exist in the game only allows them to play the game with more idea of what to look out for.aage wrote:I don't see how scum can use this information. It either is a town role, and to be used to divert the scum abilities (which is not likely, since they are a minority), or it is a scum role and the mafia already knows about it. I don't think it to be very harmful to divulge this information at the present. I personally believe it's a scum role, because they would be the only ones to get advantage from it, which means that they will be changing the target of Town abilities into other Town people, thus trying to put NK's an investigations on town people instead of mafia people. They're a lot safer if someone can't use an ability on them.Fircoal wrote:But what if it's a town power role? Then what? I don't know if it's necessarily a good thing to let this information out at such an early time. It can be used by the scum too you know.
Summarizing, if it's a town role, it'd be crap and if it's a mafia role, it'd be dangerous. That's why I'm telling you guys this.

IT seems to me that Naxus and Edocsil were busdriven...I also think the chances of Naxus being scum are slim. IF naxus was scum than why claim a role that could so easily be disproven? Though saying that the person he targetted was the same person who died that night is awfully convenient.
Personally I would still like to hear from Lalaland as unless I missed a post he hasn't said much. And I'm still a bit suspicious of Aage as it seemed he may have been purposely been playing the distraction early on in the day.

Colton, did you get notified your ability got redirected? If not, Naxus is a lying piece of scum, most probably. If so, you would already have told us, so I suppose we can skip that option...
As to why Naxus would claim this role if he were scum... during night he could have mentioned to one of his fellow mafia to vote for a specific guy during the next turn, thus easily "proving" he has that role.
Either Colton's a lier, Naxus's a lier, or Colton's action changed without him getting notified. I don't really believe in the latter.

OK, so having had a look at what happened today it seems like we have a busdriver in our midst. Thats rather annoying because it means that we don't have any solid proof of anything.
Naxus seems like a possible scum, though I feel that the hider could claim as then we will know what happened.
Other than that, we had about a page of colton and naxus trying to work everything out.
Ill refrain from voting for now but FOS Naxus

There's only two ways to look at this:
-Naxus and Edoscil were busdriven
-Naxus is scum
Since Aage mentionned being redirected to Edoscil there's obviously a busdriver. So it depends of who Aage intended to target.
Evidence is piling up against Naxus, and while Mafia Hider sounds weird, it's not impossible if the hiding prevents him from being investigated and found guilty for instance.
One other point I'd like Mr S to tell us as I find it particularly weird is how he deals with night actions. Normally they're simultaneous, but according to Naxus his action simply didn't go through because Saf died. That's not how it happens usually, so unless the mod decided to deal with actions chronologically (which is never good IMO as it just advantages the first people to send actions) it doesn't sound possible.

I targeted Naxus. I don't know how that helps us solve this, but know that i did not intend to target Edoc. And I really did not intend to sleep with anyone.
Re: X-Men Mafia - Day 2 begins! 1 replacement needed
f*ck. That means everyone is likely telling the truth then... Naxus could still be scum purely because of his "target the dead" action, but no clear way to know. Grmbl...

I think ultimately it's worth the risk. Naxus had 7% chance to hit Saf, it's damn low. Since there's also doubts on that Banshee name claim, it still feels compelling enough to me.
Vote Naxus

I am really curious to know what your role is, that being said however, please don't claim.aage wrote:I targeted Naxus. I don't know how that helps us solve this, but know that i did not intend to target Edoc. And I really did not intend to sleep with anyone.
Personally I think Ga7 is right, it is almost certain that Naxus and I were busdriven.
This is bothering me
The actions should be simultaneous, and Naxus should have lost his ability. This does assume three things however, one, everything that has been claimed about his role is true, and two, Mr. S didn't already plan for this and had it set aside as a special instance of events, and three, Mr. S could have made a mistake and not told Naxus that his role was lost. One other point I'd like Mr S to tell us as I find it particularly weird is how he deals with night actions. Hopefully Mr. S won't mind clarifying that the night actions went as the should have.
Edited before posting, Ga7 almost fastposted me. The odds look bad, I wan't to make sure there was no modding mistake before i stat to think about a lynch.

It's my impression that people are telling the truth... and if they're not, then IMO we should try and find that out for sure tonight, instead of rashly lynching today. My gut tells me that naxus is telling the truth.
One thing that i did think was weird was StrikeWolf:

I have something, I'm just deciding on whether to say it
Unless you're absolutely certain it could help town than you should remain silent.
Although this could be just a general piece of helpful advice, it also seems as though strike hasn't read anything beyond the first page of Day 2 and is majorly skimming... which makes me want to FOS strike worf
Ga7, i'm also a bit suspicious of you, since you said that you thought people's stories checked out, but then turned around and voted naxus.
Wouldn't it be more helpful to wait on this lead and try to get more info on all this tonight, and try to start looking at another area of suspicion?

One no lynch wasn't enough for you?
FOS Lalaland for hopefully defending your scumbuddy
My post was pretty clear I thought, with everyone's claims we can only conclude that Edos & Naxus were busdrived, and that Naxus isn't a hider. That's it. There is left all the other arguments against him.
