Super Cross Crazy Cross-map medal

All of the awesome maps that have and still are coming out really have made a gold on the cross-map metal ... well pretty insignificant. I had a thread 5 months ago suggesting changing the medals requirements and all hell broke loose because ppl did not want to lose their gold :S

So a different Idea... Leave the old medal as is.. and have a new one. CAll it anything but make it a new cross map with tougher requirements.
The bronze at a higher number of cross map wins than the old gold level.

Just an Idea that make all people happy.

I think that's a brilliant idea. I haven't been a member long and don't have many medals yet but I can't help feeling sorry for medal chasers who get all the medals. What then? Introducing some new tougher-to-achieve medals allows people, including avid medal chasers, to keep their medals and yet have some new ones to go for.

Here's another suggestion - what about a platinum variant for all medals? Say at around 1000 unique opponents? Is that a real hassle to implement?

And what about a Purple Heart for members who sacrifice themselves in team games when the team goes on to win? It'd have to work via nomination perhaps? 100 nominations from unique members in your team games where you sacrificed yourself but the team won gets you a Purple Heart Medal?

lol, you have some great ideas man.

I think it comes down to the coding ease. I believe that the owner does all his coding in house to save on overhead.. I dont really blame him if that is the case.

I think the easiest coding would be just to make a higher level new cross-map medal.

The platinum thing has been brought up before but a color of medals seems to find resistance.

But a new medal that is a tougher version of the crossmap seems like it could be done easily.

Just for the record, a "Platinum" and "Diamond" level of medals is being contemplated.

i suggested the platinum idea like 8 months ago.. I just assumed it was dead in the water. ... btw.. how can you make a "Medal" out of a diamond?

I dont think you can stamp a diamond or cast... nor is it a "metal"..

20 unique defeats on 50% of available maps = Bronze
100 unique defeats on 65% of available maps = Silver
400 unique defeats on 80% of available maps = Gold
