This is awesome! I would rather set up all the games and invite. That way I don't have to spend a bunch of time making up a pm and waiting for games, etc. Plus, the passwords and settings will be correct, etc. Fantastic!

I seriously doubt KORT will be using this. The way we run things this just adds an extra unneeded step for us. None of us could care about some "clan medals" We are here to play games, have fun and win. The rest is worthless.

Bruce, you are just being fucking annoying. This is a huge step for clans. If you don't want them, fine. Do you think the rest of us have trouble getting players in games and that KORT is amazing or different for some reason? No. But the option to create and invite without having to be in the game is cool. Most clans have a MoW who is in charge of organizing all games, etc. This will be very helpful for those "hands-on" MoWs.

Our current war is 114 games...I have to arrange the making of 57 games, settings and all, and then pm a player in the game and make sure they set it up right and invite the right players...it would be easier for me to just create the games and invite all the players. No question about it.

I don't think anyone is saying that using clan privs are necessary. But as an elected official for my clan, with the sole duty of running clan wars, it will be a great tool. Perfect? Not yet. But a huge step in "clan rights". Thanks to everyone for fighting for clans as an integral part of CC.

Getting past the rest of this... I could care less about medals. Those 4 medals came from teaching. Personally I never wanted them in the first place, since I signed up long before these were dreamed up.It it were up to me, I would take away all medals, but that is for another topic.

You might see this as an advancement, but if you are going to be the one making the games, you will see this as going backwards and adding another step. Let me explain... At current say your clan makes a call for games. What happens right now is your set teams or whatever set up a game(s) of their choice and send you the game numbers. Makes it quick and easy, as long as people in your clan get it done. Now with this new system you will not be getting already made games, you will only be getting game details so you can then make the games and then invite those people. For clans who struggle to get games this will be good, but for those of us who make games on time this will be not so good.

As for validating a clan war are you serious? Validating for who? Lack? Andy? Because surely anybody within the clan war knows it is a real one. Oh wait validating so we can get some stupid medals.

As for being able to search for games in some sort of data base, sure it will be easier if setup like tournaments and using ChipV's script, but really can people not just find the thread. I mean how many can there be?(Threads that is)

In closing this is not about KORT, or any other clan. This is straight views on why we ended up to this.

Bruce is correct, and clearly it is how his clan works. I'm sure other clans run the same way. AOD is quite different in that way I guess. As for validation, it will be for medals, although I have asked for a script work around where there are no rights. The validation could be used in the future for verifying things within a ladder system as well. Pros and cons to everything.

my post was not meant as a swipe at the hard work you and masli have done to get us here, but more rather why we are here. I am sure everybody within the clan world knows the CD's do a ton of work. =D> =D>

That is all I was trying to get at Bruce. I knew that your post did not mean to downplay this accomplishment. Great job guys. =D>

As far as the setups, even the best clans make mistakes. Somebody forgets to make a game private, or sets a game up standard instead of dubs, trips, etc. I am hands on. I like to control the games. Has the Legion ever made a mistake like this? No, but I have seen it with other clans, even "top" clans. I just think it will be very helpful. My opinion.

Well I can not speak for other clans but I know a lot of work goes into a clan war. DYNASTY has 4 people that help get it done and I for one who have done it by myself and also have just helped, I like the idea. Yes it might be a little bit more work for a few well oiled clans but from what I see and hear from others is there is only a few that run that smoothly. There is a ton of work that goes into setting up games and getting players already into set up games PM's more PM's forum post having players remake games because the pass word is wrong or the wrong player joined last, even a player that isn't in ether clan join's wrong setting and then when you think its all right and go back and check one last time you find 2 games that are still wrongly set up or a player that has played in too many games or a team that played to many times.

If I have privileges I can check most of this prior to making the games yes its more work but in the long run in my eye I think it will be less work. From what I understand setting up a tournament game isnā€™t much harder than setting up a regular game and inviting you friends to join you. This whole thing is called change and some do not like to change lets face it change is scary and some just like to stay in there comfort of staying the same.

Also the medals really donā€™t matter I think a lot is being made about these medals when they really have nothing to do with trying to make things better for all. I personally think most will use these privileges and in the long run will learn to like the system.

Thanks JP for all your hard work and any one else that has helped you get this done.

Big step in the right direction, well done CDs.

Quick question: since both CCup semis will have 40 games left when September 1 rolls around, will we be able to get game-creation privileges for those in-progress challenges?

Yes, there are some that only have a round left, but most of the challenges just started. Most clans got going into challenges faster than I thought. Although, I'm not one of them, many players are just heading back to school. I couldn't tell people to delay, only delayed the AOD challenges, which we likely won't get the same clans in wars.

I have a couple of quick questions here,

2. For gaming privileges, clans must also follow the 1 competitive clan rule, meaning a player can only be in one clan.

Is this a site rule now that you can only be in one competitive clan? I looked but there are a crapload of threads out there. Does anyone have a link to the clan rules thread?

2. Have no abandoned tournaments/clan wars within the past year

Could I just start a new clan if this were the case, and then get the privileges? :P

4. Be in good standing with the site (eg. no other account issues)

Does this mean that if I had been banned in the past or something, that I couldn't use the feature? What if someone had a cheating and abuse out on me? Would I have to wait until it is resolved, or whaa?

The 1 clan rule has always been one of the key unofficial rules. I guess that makes it much more official now for privileges. The CD's generally check all clans once a month or so for conformance. In general, the Clan Handbook needs several updates.

If you have abandoned tournaments, we will know via the TD system. As for clans, we'll be keeping a thread of our own. So the answer is no, a new clan won't work.

Other account issues is probably too generic right now. Precedent will have to be set as we go along. This is new territory for clans, so I'm sure we'll have issues to deal with as we come across them.
