Ok, new to CC and already hooked. Waiting to get paid to go premium.
So, looking through active games, I see games where players are just amassing troops. Thousands of troops on some territories, the games have been going on literally for years. No attacking has taken place for hundreds of rounds.
I don't get the appeal. Someone explain it to me?

I don't get the appeal either. If you want to avoid these games then never play singles games with no cards or flat rate settings. Thought this might be helpful.Chasingamy wrote:Ok, new to CC and already hooked. Waiting to get paid to go premium.

Some people just have a taste for the longer games that require patience and diplomacy and whatnot.Chasingamy wrote:Ok, new to CC and already hooked. Waiting to get paid to go premium.

If you're referring to that old Battle Royale game that's still going on, nobody is willing to move first and weaken themselves because the winner of that game has a good shot at instantly becoming CC's conqueror.

OP, I don't think anyone sees the appeal (except with the Battle Royal) besides the players in the games

I love a long game. The longer it goes the better. Simple answer is people get bored and quit, and you win.

Re: Long games...
Avoid "Standard" + "No spoils"/"Flat Rate" 3-8player games. -if you want to avoid such stalemate games.
Personally i find these longer games useful for learning new maps, and having a few semi-stalemate and stalemate games running doesn't bother me as Bruce said, as long as it's only a couple
(for premium that is, with freemium I'd probably avoid them altogether.)

Game 1457803
heres a game that ended up being very long...
the thing is... when its no cards or flat rate settings sometimes a stalemate occurs. when there are 3 or more people on a map and they all have 1000 armies, nobody wants to attack because everytime you attack, even though you take men from one of your opponents, you also lose men. what ends up happening is nobody want to make a move because it means he/she and one other person will lose men, but everyone else stays the same.
therefore, it usually takes a deadbeater, suicider, greedy player, or diplomacy to move these games along.
