You would hate Favre. That's what haters do. Dude has an MVP year and you got to be mad that your fat ass isn't getting any attention.Army of GOD wrote:Or is Brett Favre ACTUALLY retiring this time?

I saw the announcers debate that at a Yankees game. They even had a poll. "NO" was the winner by 78%Army of GOD wrote:Or is Brett Favre ACTUALLY retiring this time?

Gee, that's a wonderful response to an honest question VOL. Why must you flame and bait like this? Who pissed in your cornflakes?ViperOverLord wrote:You would hate Favre. That's what haters do. AoG, I think he will retire this time as he is old and the longer he plays, the longer it takes to recover from injuries. He can retire knowing he is one of the best QB's to have played the game.

Wasn't Brett Farve a kickball player in the 80s?

AoG, finnaly has something to say that I dont just shake my head at. No, he's not going to retire. And viper give it up, brett is a lil bitch who loves all the attention. Instead of just saying, hey im too old to be doing training camps, ill just see you guys on sundays and we will win 11-13 games, hes got to "ponder" retirement and let the media blow it up for 24 hours. He could have very, VERY easily just come right out and said, hey I dont know where you are getting your info, but my mind is still not made up(no kidding). I used to love/hate him for his gritty play in GB(49ers fan), but now hes a primadonna bitch, and hopefully he gets his leg broken on his first pass of the season which also happens to go for a pick 6.

Re: Am I getting my hopes up for nothing?
Farve is dealing with an ankle injury. I hope he decides to stay in Minnesota, rehabilitate the ankle and that it allows him to play this season. The Vikings are a scary team with Brett at QB, but that fear factor is diminished without him. The injury occurred in the NFC Championship against the Saints and he stayed in the game right to the end, but hasn't fully recovered.
So put him on the roster and play him when he's ready.

Re: Am I getting my hopes up for nothing?
BrINT may have had a decent year last year but there's no way he'll win another superbowl the way he still throws the ball. Look at the INT that ended their year last year. Across his body through the middle of the field with his team almost in long FG territory. Probably the worst throw he made all year. But did it really surprise anyone? He's been making bonehead throws his whole career and his teams always suffer because of it. The provebial double-edged sword.
I love watching him play but I will never be convinced that he is good enough to win another championship. Time to move on, Minnesota!

Dude, that interception came after the BIGGEST ass whooping I ever seen on a QB. I didnt think Favre would finish. Big credit to N.O. defensive line. They beat the shit out of him. Hes stayed in there. Now he has his surgery and it's all about the recovery. He will recover. He will come back. We will go to the superbowldarvlay wrote:BrINT may have had a decent year last year but there's no way he'll win another superbowl the way he still throws the ball. I hope he leaves just so that every team in the NFC North (except maybe the Lions) has a reason to hate him.

Are you kidding me? I gave a legitimate opinion albeit with a judgment of character attached. Given his record and your propensity to disagree with me on matters, I think maybe you're the one flaming and baiting to even put up this facade defense.notyou2 wrote:Gee, that's a wonderful response to an honest question VOL. Perhaps, Viper, you should join Dorothy and ask the wizard for a sense of humour. Or an opinion worth having.

It was like watching a fight. At first you are all into it, but then you realize someone is really getting whipped. I was there. I stepped in and said "Alright, that's enough!" From behind me I heard the voice of the Saints whisper..."No Mercy!"darvlay wrote:That is true. Re: Am I getting my hopes up for nothing?
Favre was a great QB, note the "was." Last year was his last hurrah I think, mostly because he is getting to the age where he just won't recover well even with surgery. He doesn't move quickly enough anymore in the pocket, and the vikes line isn't exactly what it used to be either. Combine that with the fact that some key pro bowl players are out of the offense for awhile and Favre just won't be the same. The vikes had a great year last year no doubt, but the magic is gone and what the vikes should probably have done was invest in a 23 year old QB that will develop rather than a 40 year old one that may be carried off the field in a stretcher this year.
