In my not so humble opinion, I would tell any non Ameircan who "hates Americans" that if you really want to be qualified to "hate Americans" then come to the United States, come to Long Island, and drive the damn Long Island Expressway for a whole solid month. Notice how the first "individuals" is plural and the second is singular possessive. If an American takes a piss in a public water fountain, don't think everyone else will from the US.

2. Overly patriotic people are annoying and dangerous. Patriotism promotes ones country AND helps preserve it. Patriotism also does not cancel humanitarianism. look at the aid the US provides. The amount of food and medicines to Africa alone is staggering. Patriotism also leads to war and hate. I have nothing wrong with normal patriotism...but OVERLY patriotic people are just radical religious people with a different reason for hating and killing.

Is it better for a country to look out for the best interests of humanity when other countries are looking out for their own best interests? How do you reconcile hating American for looking out for its own best interests and not hating other countries for doing the same (for example, Venezuela, China, Iran, Israel, etc).

I live in Canada. I have family in the U.S. I don't hate Americans... unless they have this attitude,

A day will come when we tell you 2nd rate countries to stuff it where it belongs...

America can't be a super-power forever. Just like Rome, England, France, etc eventually something happens and it crumbles. Aren't you in a serious amount of debt? I'm not saying Canada isn't but eventually you could hit a depression (obviously bringing the world down with you). Who will rise out of it at the top? Probably China, India, and maybe Brazil. Three new powers.

Anyways, I don't hate Americans at all. But when they are cocky and stupid.. that's when people get annoyed or pissed off. Comments about how Britain, France, Canada, Australia/New Zealand etc would have lost the wars without America may be true. But that's almost like dishonouring the fallen soldiers. America was Isolationists before WWI and barely helped till the end after tons of soldiers had already died. Without those fallen soldiers, America would have lost..

So yeah. Everybody should just get along. And America should be careful. If Manifest Destiny comes up again and they decide to invade Canada... it sounds like Europe has our back. And gives the middle-east, and Cuba and North Korea an excuse too. lol
