50 Modern Maps:
From City to the Globe

PLEASE, WHEN JOINING, POST:
YOUR PREFERRED SETTINGS YOU WOULD LIKE TO APPLY TO EVERY KIND OF MAP
Freemiums, only one game slot will need to be kept open for this tournament. The tournament won't begin for a while, so no worries for now.
Tournament features multiple game modes (1v1 and 4-6 singles game)

The 50 Modern Maps Tournament will feature nearly every contemporary, world map on Conquer Club for all six inhabited continents. Upon joining as one of the 136 players, you will begin in a small map of your choice, such as NYC or San Marino, and advance, playing on larger and larger maps such as Asia or South America, until reaching the Global Finale. The tournament consists of 6 leagues, representing the continents. All leagues begin with 1 vs. 1 divisional play, with double elimination, meaning once you lose twice in divisional play, you are eliminated from the tournament. Each division will have 4 players. All 1 vs. 1 matchups will be decided by rank, with the highest ranked player playing the lowest ranked player.
If you manage to advance to the next stages, you will be playing 3-6 player singles games, eventually, with great skill, reaching the top-tier game, the Global Finale.
The more specific details (like how many players advance in each stage, or the size of the singles games) vary between leagues, so check out how the advancement works for the league you desire (the leagues are listed below in the spoilers)
The settings for each game shall be determined by the player with the higher rank. All ranks will be locked in when games are created.
Be sure that, when joining, you post your preferred settings that you would like to apply to every kind of map.
Each league offers different advantages: The North American and the European Leagues will be the toughest leagues, so experienced players aiming for a challenge should go for these leagues. However, more players will advance to the Global Finale from these leagues because there is stiffer competition.
In the beginning you must choose one of the divisions listed in italics in each of the six leagues below as your starting map. They can also be found italicized in each league. This will be your division. There are 34 divisions in all. You will play in the corresponding map (for example, if you are in the NYC division, you will play on the NYC map during divisional, 1 vs. 1 games).
Since there are 50 maps being used, it would be greatly appreciated if you tell people you know who play on less popular maps to join, because the popular maps could be taken right away, leaving less popular ones empty.

Here are the number of players who can advance to the Global Finale:
2 Players qualifying from Europe
1 Player qualifying from North America
2 Players qualifying from South America, Africa, Asia, or Oceania (player winning league finals from these continents play in a 4-player singles game)
1 "Wild" player qualifying from one of the six continents

52 players in Europe, 2 players go to finale= 1 player goes to finale for every 26 players.
28 Players in North America, 1 player go to finale= 1 player goes to finale for every 28 players.
56 Players in South America, Africa, Asia, 2 players go to finale= 1 player goes to finale for every 28 players.

--UNLESS SPECIFIED, ALL GAME SETTINGS OTHER THAN THE MAP SHALL BE CHOSEN BY THE PLAYER WITH THE HIGHER RATING. DIVISIONS WILL PLAY INDEPENDENTLY OF EACH OTHER, SO ONE DIVISION MAY BE FINISHED WITH 1V1 PLAY WHILE ANOTHER IS NOT. THIS ALSO APPLIES TO LEAGUES AS WELL--
Sorry, but no BETA maps!

Winner of the Global Finale is the winner of the tournament!

*These games do not have a set map: The player with the higher rank shall choose which map is to be used.

Note: I will need 5 reserves to take the place of any dropped-out players or ā€œdeadbeats.ā€ If needed, the reserves will be randomly selected to take the place of absent players.
Once the first, divisional games have been created, players will have 72 hours to join the games, or they shall be replaced by reserves for the rest of the tournament.

This is a pretty massive tournament, so any help will be greatly appreciated, just send me a P.M. If you have any questions also send me a P.M.

Thanks,
WorldCup4James

Africa it is, though I'm not such a fan of the egypt maps >_< (I actually think I like asia the most...hmm)

Anyway, if it's going to be a grand finale, on a huge map. Would World 2.1 be a better option?

PLEASE VOTE FOR THE FINAL, HOST MAP:

VOTE FOR EITHER CLASSIC MAP, WITH 6 PLAYERS, OR WORLD 2.1, WITH 8 PLAYERS.

The advantages of World 2.1 are that more players can qualify from tougher leagues (namely Europe and North America), although it is a VERY complex and large map with something like 113 territories.
The advantage of Classic map is that it is the original map of Risk, not very complex, and all players know how to play on it (there are no tricky rules), but less people qualify.
Just post a reply, the map with the most votes will be used in the finale.
Currently, World 2.1 is set to be the host map.
Thanks,
WorldCup4James

This here is some justification for why I close all voting; we're playing on a Classic map:

But now this is unfair for those in the European and American leagues. There are more players in these leagues and still only 1 will get through. I am not complaining per se, but that is one game out of many on World 2.1. I personally think that 2.1 would be better in terms of both gameplay and fairness. On the other hand I have played a lot of RL risk so I am better on classic. Just thought I would add my thoughts to this.

Ahh, cool. Even though I am unlikely to get that far, I reckon that match will be pretty epic.
