Voicey’s Voice Your Pick (Complete)
The Basics:The tournament will consist of 16 doubles teams (32 players) and be single elimination. Every round, teams will compete in a best of five games series. The team points must average to 1600 points, or the equivalent of two Lieutenants at the time of signing up. Every player must have played at least 100 games and have 98% attendance rating or higher. Teams will be seeded (ranked) according to their combined points. If there is a tie (say two teams have a total of 3500 points), the tiebreaker will be total games won. ADDITION: All players must be premiums.
The Rounds:In every round, five games will be played. Each team will select two games (their home games). They must select one game from Group One and one game from Group Two. If you cannot find a map in either group, I intentionally left it out (for example, you won’t find City Mogul). Each team can pick a variety of settings it wishes, but every game must always be sequential , casual, and automaticdeployment. Group TWO maps must also always be SUNNY. One team will select two games, the other will select two games. Thus, in every round, teams will play two home games, two away games.
Now, the best teams are the ones who can be prepared for any map thrown in their direction. The highest ranking 50% of the teams will “voice their pick” and select a neutral site on which two completely different teams will contend. For example, in the first round, seeds 1-8 will select a map they want to see two other teams play on. These 8 maps will go into a pool and be selected at random. This means the fifth game could go to the team who picked it and become a third home game. When we have the final two teams, the team who wins the coin toss will pick the fifth map or the settings for the fifth game. If the first team selects the map, for example, the other team will choose the settings.
Rules on Map Selection:
While teams may always choose the same settings, they are banned from choosing the same map to be one of their home games more than one time at any point in the tournament. I want to see whoever wins win on a variety of maps. You may not want to start with your best map(s), therefore, if you plan to make it to the championships. The highest ranking teams will only be allowed to select the fifth (neutral) game map once as well. However, these teams may select one map twice if it is to be a home game once and a neutral game once. Thus, if they're lucky, they may end up playing a map twice. They may also end up playing a map twice (or more, I suppose) if the other team selects it.
What to Post: Please give me you and your teammates name. I'll seed everyone based on their total points at the start of the tournament
*Note: This is my first tournament. If you have any suggestions for future tournaments, please feel free to let me know. Also, if you see any glaring errors, please let me know, and I will address them as soon as I can.
EDIT: There is one loophole as far as neutral games go. I did not explicitly state that neutral games must be in one of the two groups. Since it is too late in the game to be changing/altering rules, I will accept any neutral map choices that aren't in one of the two groups.
