I'm not sure if this has been suggested before, but I run a few tournaments and I think it would be nice If I could have some sets of people or groups that I PM often as an option instead of having to add them all individually each time. I've got my own system for this where i simply PM myself a list of the names, but not everyone is that inventive

Often Used Groups for Private Messages
Hi!

That would certainly not work for me, not because I'm not inventive, but because I go through my PM's too fast. It only takes me about 2-3 days to go through the 50 PM's now.Hopscotcher wrote:I've got my own system for this where i simply PM myself a list of the names, but not everyone is that inventive
On topic, I have no idea what you want or haow it would help. There is a format you are supposed to follow for Suggestions threads, and a key part of it is how this would improve the site. This would not help the site in my eyes, you are never going to get the exact same people in your tourneys. This would just increase the likelihood of inexperienced or lazy TO's making a mistake.
I can't counterargue something you have not argued. You need more details of how this would work, because if there is just a set list of X number of people it won't work, again, you won;t get the exact same people in your tourneys every time

Keep a list in Excel. Works wonders.

yup -- old copy and paste works every time.

You could have Groups that you send PMS to..... Like "Social Users XYZ"
If you as a person send these social users xyz many pms, then you could just plug in the group instead of the people individually every time
Also: do you utilize your folders? you should.
I have about 5 groups in running my 5 tournaments that I have to send PMS to every round. It would be much easier for me to just put in the groups instead of having to do this manually each and every time. It could also be applied to people who play in team games with the same partners often, etc. etc.
yes. this works, but it is so very tedious.....mpjh wrote:yup -- old copy and paste works every time.

Oh, you're talking about within one tourney. That makes more sense. What I do is just go into the old PM and hit Reply to all (just below the big reply button).Hopscotcher wrote:I have about 5 groups in running my 5 tournaments that I have to send PMS to every round. So send it to yourself as well? I don't know. I guess that works. I just think it would be nice If I could lump a bunch of names into one "address book" and send out messages that way.jrh_cardinal wrote:Oh, you're talking about within one tourney. You can send it to yourself, but you don't have to. The reply to all button is available in the outbox as well, so it doesn't have to be in your inboxHopscotcher wrote:So send it to yourself as well? EDIT by outbox I mean the "sent messages" folder

I use excel and my list is almost 600 players long now
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit.
