Honestly the only reason ever I rated people was to get the ratings gold medal. Now I don't even touch it.

Actually, this is a problem CC should address. I'm sure you (and many people like you) did not pay attention to how you were rating people, just did it quickly with all 5's or all 1's if the player was really bad. Maybe CC should get rid of ratings or at least the ratings medals, because ratings obviously are not great indicators of any of the
3 things they supposedly measure
