http://i222.photobucket.com/albums/dd27 ... ltable.pngHi all, I'm venturing out from my usual sports-themed tourneys, to run this Keep On Truckin' event.
Play style: 1 vs. 1
Open: Premium AND freebie players (only one open slot required)
# of players: 32
Here's the story...(completely fictional of course, but stated to avoid being sued by someone with a truckload more $$$ than I have...lol)
Microsoft pioneer Bill Gates just purchased the 32 copies of the BeeGees Greatest Hits album at a Seattle open market and is in a rush to get it autographed by lead singer Barry Gibb, who is enjoying the Miami nightlife. So Gates is using his enormous wealth to hire 32 semi-truck drivers to transport albums across the country -- the first to cover the 3,946 one-way trip to Miami where Gibb is waiting with his Sharpie in hand. Of course, Gates isn't going to waste trailer space and he has loaded PCs into each truck to be dropped off at destinations along the way.
Rules:
Players can choose one of four routes across the country (maximum 8 drivers per route).
All routes measure the same distance, although drivers will be playing different maps along the way depending which path they choose -- 1) Northern Pass; 2) Rocky Mountain; 3) Heartland; 4) Southern States. The northern-most routes are played under more fog (see table below), while the southern routes are mostly played under sunny conditions.
Besides that settings will be: flat, chained, sequential and auto deploy
Drivers will randomly battle the other trucks on their route in 1 vs. 1 play to get across the country fastest. Mileage is earned based on winning in fewer rounds and on armies accrued during the game, however winning quickly is the biggest factor. The winning player gets a better multiplier for his armies and also gets "owned card" bonuses added to his total -- otherwise armies gained through cards are not factored into the formula.
When the lead truck on a route reaches a destination, the last two drivers (at the completion of that set of play) will be eliminated. This same pattern will be in play at each of the check-point cities along the way until we end up with four trucks making the sprint run to Miami. The first driver to pull into Miami is the winner.
Destination cities with official mileage to each is listed under each route marker on the driver's table above. Maps will change every 500 miles along the way, meaning players will see 8 different maps on their journey.
* colors don't have any bearing on the game, they simply represent which colored blip will show you on the route map as the game progresses.
