You know, the economic standard that we have had for the past 30 years? Thats what caused this great inequality, not some "re-distribution" scheme. The free market approach is what has caused the inequality and relative poverty, look at the countries with greater social programmes then ours, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Japan etc... They all are much more equal and have less poverty. The other countries with the greatest inequality and relative poverty, amazingly the other free market promoters, USA, Portugal, NZ etc...
