Winning was invented at McGill University in 1832 due to losing ceasing to be an option.

I heard losing was invented the same year at their arch rival's school.pimpdave wrote:Winning was invented at McGill University in 1832 due to losing ceasing to be an option.

Well, you are partially correct. Losing was still invented at McGill University, just by the rival school, while at McGill.strike wolf wrote:I heard losing was invented the same year at their arch rival's school.pimpdave wrote:Winning was invented at McGill University in 1832 due to losing ceasing to be an option.

So McGill failed to invent the concept of a tie?pimpdave wrote:Well, you are partially correct. You probably would have been better off challenging him to a regular spelling contest, since ther are no set rules for anything on the internet, especially spelling. This is only proven further by the existance of the internet-native language, 1337.strike wolf wrote:Than I challenge you to an internet spelling contest.targetman377 wrote:any time i could prove you worngstrike wolf wrote:I think target proved you wrong. Re: the longest thread, thread - Occasionally NSFW
Real life spelling rules apply, googling and other methods of findng proper spelling is prohibitted and I can't really travel to Wisconsin to meet him for a spelling bee nor would I expect him to be able to make it to Georgia for the same reason. And obviously neutral ground is out of the question since i'm wanted in all the other 48 states...Lucarilover240 wrote:You probably would have been better off challenging him to a regular spelling contest, since ther are no set rules for anything on the internet, especially spelling. Okay, I am loving the Sgt Foley thing. So much, in fact, that I'm going to start an entire thread for it.

... Or at least I was going to, if not for the fact that immediately after making this post, my POS laptop crashed on me. Had to use the recovery disc on it. Luckily I know by now not to keep much on it.Lucarilover240 wrote:Okay, I am loving the Sgt Foley thing. So much, in fact, that I'm going to start an entire thread for it.
