I've recently played against a few players whose posts in the foundry far outnumber the number of games the players have played. In one instance the player had posted over 500 times in the Final Forge, but had played in only 200 total games.
On the General forum page, the Foundry is listed with this description:
"This is where maps get made. Check out what's in development and give us some feedback."
I think that feedback would come best from players who play the maps, especially those who play more games than they post comments. Therefore, I offer the following posting restriction suggestion:
-players cannot post to a foundry page for a map they've never played (except maps that haven't been forged into beta or accepted into the final list)
-post count in the foundry limited to the number of games a player has played (e.g. if a player has played in 5 total games, they are limited to 5 total posts anywhere in the foundry.)
I think this will help limit some of the trash that is posted in the foundry, especially limiting comments from players who aren't speaking from experience. It will make the foundry more interesting and more cohesive and help to limit trolls.

Re: Posting Restriction for the Foundry
I remember when a player with 6 games came and made the most beautiful map (except for its legend) that I have ever seen anywhere in the foundry (including final forge and quenched maps). I'll send a link when the foundry gets put back up.
Of course, he then left the site, and thus the map, but it was a really sad loss. I'm still hoping we have some pro's at photoshop like him just jump into the foundry, and perhaps we can ask the next one to post the psd before he quits CC.
Just a comment. Your suggestion makes sense, but I can't say whether or not I like it. I remember that I used to watch a lot more games than I played when I didn't have premium.

So in your world, freemiums are incapable of making great suggestions for map-making?Queen_Herpes wrote:I've recently played against a few players whose posts in the foundry far outnumber the number of games the players have played. Sorry to bump this up, but I promised that I would post this when the foundry got back up.
