Re: How Do You Respond To Terrorism?
Do you believe Scripture is literal, then? Or do you believe that the reference to "the revived Roman Empire" might be a reference to a TYPE of government rather than a specific region of the world? And if you believe the Scripture is literal, then do you believe ALL of it is literal? Or only the part you WANT to be literal?jay_a2j wrote:Army of GOD wrote:You could replace martial law with any noun and you can argue that it's true.jay_a2j wrote:"it's not if we have martial law, it's when."
And, well, just for the sake of being somewhat religious-related, wouldn't it make sense for the Anti-Christ to come from like, Jerusalem or Bethlehem or somewhere of religious importance? It's like in the remake of The Omen, where their "3 events" of the coming of the Anti-Christ were all American related (9/11, Hurricane Katrina and the War in Iraq if I remember correctly).
It just seems...arrogant to think it's all about US.
The London bombings, the train bombing in Spain, the Sarin gas in Japan, the school bombing in Russia the tsunami of December 2005 ...... yes it seems arrogant to say "terror attacks" and disasters only happen in the US.
Scripture states the the anti-Christ will come from "the revived Roman Empire", which is Rome and the surrounding area. (Europe) He will not come from the US.

The Roman Empire has not been revived.(Although the EU is doing a pretty good job at it currently) You can twist anything you want to "fit" your definition of the Roman Empire. I do not care. You can continue to deny scripture, that is your choice. But please save us your baseless claims of how scripture has gone unfulfilled with your "explanations" that "it has already happened". Re: How Do You Respond To Terrorism?
I'm not sure how much more of a Roman Empire you could expect than from Germany in WWII. I mean, there are no Romans left, so it can only be in spirit. Germany was certainly in the spirit of it (and I guarantee that there were plenty of end-timers convinced that the Third Reich was a sign).Iliad wrote:Oh I'm sorry. Perhaps we can assume the Anti-Christ will arise from the newly created state of Palestine... or maybe from a one-state solution between Israel and Palestine. And this makes sense because the Romans were in Palestine, and since Jay says that the Revived Roman Empire has yet to be revived even though it technically already has then that means that the new Palestine or new Israel + Palestinian Territories must be the Revived Roman Empire because that's when the end of the world will come to pass with the advent of the anti-Christ.jay wrote:I'll put it in a nut shell. In the last days, "the whole world" will turn against Israel. And that includes (assuming it's still around) the United States of America.

Ah, so you...a mere human...gets to decide when the Bible "obviously should be taken literally". That's what you're saying, Jay?
You made the claim that "Believe me, when these things happen, you won't miss them nor confuse them with other events. No, I'm saying literal is literal. But things like "giant locusts" is probably the only way John could describe a helicopter seeing they weren't invented until almost 2000 years later.
And really? Where does the Bible say, "that you won't see these things coming and that those who look for them will always be mistaken"?

Re: How Do You Respond To Terrorism?
To get this back on track - Colton, you're an idiot. Terrorism has been around for a long, long, long time, so it's not really a new development from a few extremists who mostly follow the ideals of Sayid Qutb and other misfortuned individuals. People have and always will go with their lives to the extent they can without the authority's claiming it's the end of the world because a few places (albeit, important places to many people - e.g. London, the statue of Buddha in Afghanistan, WTC, Baghdad) have been bombed. Humanity has suffered far, far worse problems then terrorism, and a combined body of humans will pull through with the outcasts of terrorists being out of this combined body.

In response to the Op's question.
The best way to deal with terrorism is through police work counter terrorism squads and the like. Sending in the army is just about the dumbest way to do it, they are a big heavy blunt tool when what you need is precision. Sending in the army just makes more targets for the terrorists to blow as well as gives them a huge propaganda tool.
Dealing with them through police work also sends the message these guys are just common thugs and aren't a real threat to our collective national security. They might blow up a few buildings or some trains but they will never conquer or destroy our nation. Sending in the army legitimizes them, it says your as dangerous as another country and then when the big clumsy tool of the military fails to destroy them they get to claim to have defeated your whole nation.

the is but it's all negative. All you do is create more enemies to your nation and make it easier for enemy propagandists. You also drasticly increase the cost in lives and dollars to yourself. \It is far better to treat terrorists as they are, criminals and not as legitimate enemies.Phatscotty wrote: Is there something to be said for sending your warriors to draw the heat, especially away from the homeland....no?

I also disagree that it brings more enemies, it is weakness that brings enemies. They know they have a chance to win. Easier for propagandists? Who gives a shit it's our people that are dying. We are well aware of the reprecussions of deploying our troops. What our enemies think about our deployment is secondary.
