I doubt it, but there are enough to warrant needing to make sure x## is playable.natty_dread wrote:Do more people use colour codes than not?

Playable, yes. Thus what I said, make circles for 2 numbers but make sure there's room in the map for the 3rd number.
Besides... if you want to fit 3 numbers, and you need to consider colour codes, shouldn't you make the circles for 4 numbers

Exactly. Which is why if you look at any and all of the live maps on CC, their circles are made to fix ##; ensured to allow ###.natty_dread wrote:Playable, yes. Thus what I said, make circles for 2 numbers but make sure there's room in the map for the 3rd number.

Rask,
I made the icons 10% larger, and I went ahead and shifted things around. Also started to play around with some color ideas.
I do not think we should have any problems now on the small version. Tell me what you think. Layout 4.

Pork,
I totally love it! The cities and connections are almost perfect ( I will how you the 2 or 3 adjustments needed), and the colors are a great idea! See what works best - but the transparency of the normal cities. making them look like a looking glass focused on each city from high up, is just brilliant!
I'll post something soon.
Amazing work! Thank you!

Hi Pork,
As I said, I only have a few minor changes. See below please. I'll try not putting lables on and names, see what it will look like. of course It will be a draft only I totally trust you on choosing fonts , styles etc.
Thanks again,
R

Pork,
Here are also the flags and texts. They are in draft only so you can play with them as you wish. For Rule 2, we problably need to spell out cities, ports, religious sites because C is Captal, not city, and it makes no sense that Capitals can bombard themselves ! lol

Re: 150 After Hijrah: The Battle for God
OMG,
It all fits perfect !!!
I like the font as well. I might end up using it.
Can you draw up some borders to separate the bonus areas ? I think I will try a color treatment for the land. Not a big fan of colored land in my maps, but it just might be called for here. Its that, or color the text. With the crystal spheres, it may look good to have different colored land underneath them.
Man, the whole map is starting to spring to life. I hope this one has a chance to make it.

Re: 150 After Hijrah: The Battle for God
THere are NO bonus areas
Empire boundaries are set by Battles.
I think the land should stay the same color, and the text as well. We really don't need either, since there are no bonuses for "regions" (ie no continents).
Oh please remember to ass the Land of Sicily under the City of Palermo (I1)!
Thanks!

Smaller and duller font would be better. Maybe like a dark brown, but with a shadow, so it comes up from the land.

I am sorry to burst anyones bubble here but the map doesn't fit within the guidelines. The large map cannot be any bigger than 840x800, your last post is at 867px × 809px. You need to come down a smidgen.

This map has been moved into the Ideas subforum, as it does not meet the criteria for a Working Draft:
Drafting Room Guidelines
To be considered a Working Draft a project must be more than just an idea; a Draft should have a clear thematic focus, a plan for how the gameplay will work, and a basic image which should include:Draft images should not be larger than 630x600px (small image) or 840x800px (large image).
- 1. Territory Labels - temporary names or numbers will suffice, and are always open to change.
2. Borders/Paths/Impassables - it should be made clear where territories do/do not connect.
3. Bonus Areas - where combinations/groups of territories will award a bonus, this should be indicated on the map.
4. Legend - speculative bonus values and explanations of any attack rules or gameplay features.

Re: 150 After Hijrah: The Battle for God

Please tell me exactly what criteria this map does not meet. I find your decision highly questionable. Kindly revise it or I will appeal it. I realise you're on a Foundry clean-up mission but that involves more than spending 30 seconds per thread, looking at the last post and then making comments or decisions based on incomplete facts or information. Not very professional, in my opinion... At the very least you should have made an inquiry with us before moving it. Had we not answered to your satisfaction, you then could have gone ahead. Now you just look like a having made a one-sided, erroneous decision without having bothered to check the top of this thread or even be courteous or polite towards people who invest their time and effort to improve this site. I think you have a lot to learn before leading the foundry, ragazzo...

I look at the map and I see Rus, what's the bonus for Rus? I think your legend my be missing a lot. I can't really tell though.

Re: 150 After Hijrah: The Battle for God
There are no region bonuses. Please read the legend. It is complete. Pork is working on the next draft and he's not been around much this week - probably not feeling great. That's why this map (or its improved version) is not yet at the top of the thread. It will be as soon as Pork is back in good shape.
Re: 150 After Hijrah: The Battle for God
I don't see where it says specifically that there are no bonus regions in the legend. Please show me where. I also don't see in the legend where it explains the symbols you've used. I get the ports are the ones with ship wheel, but that is not in the legend either.

Re: 150 After Hijrah: The Battle for God
A legend does not say what bonuses are NOT given, only the ones that are - so stop being pedantic.
Have you checked the top of the thread? The legend is complete there and all symbols are explained. This map is the next version on a different artistic direction, which is now being revised by Porkenbeans, who has not been feeling well this week. If you took 2 minutes to actually check this thread from the top down instead of criticizing based on limited information your questions would be answered.

Re: 150 After Hijrah: The Battle for God
I was simply confused since there appear to be several maps posted in this thread. Given one was just posted an hour or so ago, how am I to know which is the most recent version?

Re: 150 After Hijrah: The Battle for God
You look at the top of the thread. Pork and I also use the thread to work together in developing new versions. He's been unwell this week that's why the latest version is not quite complete and up at the top of the thread. But the one already there is complete in itself. We just decided to change the artistic direction and are working on it.
The one posted an hour ago was in fact a repost challenging nobodies statement that this map does not meet Foundry criteria.

You've realized wrong. Please tell me exactly what criteria this map does not meet. I find your decision highly questionable. Kindly revise it or I will appeal it. Your map still exceed the size restrictions. And what is the meaning of all those symbols? I'm simply following the guidelines:
http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewto ... 41&t=78808
And thanks for your "friendly words", btw I assure you that I spend much more than 30 seconds on every single map posted, if something in my way of doing things is wrong for you, ask one of my colleagues to follow your map.
This is highly questionable since it is the first time I hear this thing and it's only a your personal thought...please know people before judging.Raskholnikov wrote:I think you have a lot to learn before leading the foundry, ragazzo...

Re: 150 After Hijrah: The Battle for God
Please go to the top of the thread. The map posted there, the official last version, measures exactly 840 by 800 and all symbols are explained. Here, at the bottom, Pork and I are using the thread to exchange working drafts before we post a final one on top. Is there a law against that? And if not, why do you base your decisions on what are clearly working drafts instead of checking the detailed post at the top of the thread, which DOES meet all Foundry requirements? And if you DO have an issue, then why not ask first, as a good manager would do before making an erronoeus decision which will antagonise people you're supposed to be working WITH, not AGAINST?
