I have no big things against bringing Belgium and Netherlands together, but call it the "Lage Landen" or the Benelux

And I'm not being Nationalistic - The main gist of the world cup, is that it pits country against country and this means where you're born. I'm sorry if I've given you a wrong line at the start... I just thought everyone understood how your nationality worked.

If some people out there feel that they don't give a sh*t about where they are born, and its where they live thats important - then this competition isn't for you as you've clearly lost all national pride.

Well, excuse me then your highness. I just signed up for the competition in accordance to the rules you laid down in your first post. What more can I do? Sure, if you want to amend those rules posted - please feel free, it's your competition.

I know about various concepts of nationality. But you never mentioned nationality in your first post, you stated that we should sign up for teams where we lived. Thus, I did. But apparently I'm to stupid to understand that you meant something else.

Frankly, I'm tired about this. I save my national pride for future wars and future real life sport events. I can't take CC that seriously that it's worth spending any national pride on it. Shove it.

Twill has promised to help out in the competition, and Lack's probably busy, so hopefully I can persuade Twill to do a multi check. Also Twill and/or Pain Brain will most likely by the neutral parties in any disputes that arise.

Note to Pedronicus/MrConfigT:

I only update the team register on the site when I make the big long posts on the forums, so the last 6 or so posts remain unaccounted for.

Uh sorry, national pride refers to pride in cultural heritage, ie. the place where you grew up.

You know some of the world cup players that play for countries? The country they play fore is not necessarily the place they are born in.

As such I beg to differ - nationality is defined not by location of birth, but by naturalisation. If you have heard of the phenomenon of the "Third Culture Kid" either, then this is an example. Many of us are sheerly globalised, and are in fact attached to more than one culture because they've lived their life in one nation and one in the other.

Have we got 3 players for this Brazil/South Africa alliance?

Update:

If you want to join post your country

Sorry for the lack of updates today, been doing some behind the scenes work... and also been lazy, but I will update the teams tomorrow.

Just in case any of you didn't hear, we now have a prize for the tourney. 1 year premium (4 months for each player).

Also I will be pming all the finished teams over the coming days about assigning captains. We'll be communicating with the Captains on behalf of the teams. They will be responsible for getting their team into games/hosting games etc. If you want to be really cool, and do it before I pm you, do it in this thread http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1751. Oh and if you could also state whether the captain has premium membership or not that'd be good, thanks.

Hey, I've got two buddies who wanna join me on a team.

Postby Mjoff on Thu May 25, 2006 7:28 am

We're all from Norway, and I guess that it is another Norway team, so then we have to name ourselves Norway 1, I suppose.. The members are me; Mjoff, Bekkstrand and Japekatten.

Great Idea Pedronicus :D
You can contact Bekkstrand if there's some messages, he's our best player ^^, so he will be the team-captain..
