Re: Original british isles
why don't you go to the foundry where the original thread still exists? not a very hard thing to figure out where to look... you know, they do MAKE the maps in the foundry... and even though it was updated, the original map is still visible there...-0jleonnn wrote:![]()

Re: Original british isles
the colors look like they were done in ms paint, the names of the territs were inaccurate (supposedly, i know nothing of the british isles...), and i think that was it
so they updated it
so they updated it
Re: Original british isles

Re: Original british isles
Indeed this is one case where looking in the foundry does not help, as the links to the original image are gone.owenshooter wrote:why don't you go to the foundry where the original thread still exists? not a very hard thing to figure out where to look... you know, they do MAKE the maps in the foundry... and even though it was updated, the original map is still visible there...-0jleonnn wrote:![]()

Was that map developed in the time without a foundry?

Re: Original british isles
The first 10 maps or so were essentially developed and loaded right away. They might have gotten 4 or 5 total pages of discussion and go through up to 3 drafts, but the foundry was nothing like it is today.jleonnn wrote:Was that map developed in the time without a foundry?
As time passed the standards of the foundry rose dramatically, because some very skilled people made good maps and the quickly loaded maps paled in comparison. That is essentially why most of the original maps have been revamped (with the exception of USA and Europe, which were in the original 3 but were very well done!)

That is the map, but the colors are not quite right. It was richer in color. And the hue is not quite right. But that is the map.samuelc812 wrote:Here is the original![]()
