I think it is possible to accurately calculate highest score regardless of missing logs, thanks for the info , Scott!Scott-Land wrote:I'm guessing there are missing logs Chip ? If it's an issue you will have or have with existing players then I suppose you may have to resolve it. However if it's isolated to just a couple of instances, I wouldn't put too much thought into it Chip. I'm perfectly fine with what you have me down for. It was just a goal of mine at the time. Really is just water under the bridge at this point.chipv wrote:Damn never mind. It can be done if your peak is before the first missing log or after the last missing log but very difficult to see how to do it if your peak happened during the missing logs.

mine is off too. Theres alot of players listed in the top 10 that dont match what I have. I think cheaters should not be on this eitherBlitzaholic wrote:Scott-Land wrote:I'm guessing there are missing logs Chip ? My all time high is 5522. I can verify this is true. I am missing my 4386 score too scotty and only listed 4347 which I am in the process of accepting.
So after some thought it is possible to calculate precise highest scores if and only if the highest score charted in Map Rank is either before the first missing log or after the last one. This is a pretty small proportion of time/games played so in most cases we can get an accurate result.Yes your highest is 5522.Scott-Land wrote:I'm guessing there are missing logs Chip ? To get your score, point swing is arranged in order of time. The missing logs effectively introduce a fixed permanent offset between
Map Rank score and your score. In this case Map Rank has you at 3068. Your profile says 3288 which means your real score is +220 from Map Rank.
This offset is fixed and is equal to the points lost from the missing logs.
Your chart shows your highest peak is after all the missing logs and is 5302. Well 5302 + 220 (offset above) = 5522 which is your real highest score.

This is what I'm talking about right there. If people want an extremely accurate highest score calculator someone needs to let me know.

I agree-- I don't recall Mystique getting that high but again I wasn't keeping tabs. It just seems like that would be something I would've heard of considering back then 5K was peak. I'm wondering if her score reset(s) didn't add the starting 1000 ( maybe 2000Blitzaholic wrote:chipv wrote:Mystique's is 3255 calculated as I described above - and that is exact because the peak was in Aug 09.

3255 score sounds right from what I remember on Mystique, so why does it say 4936? I just don't know how she gets that score.

Krusher suffered the same fate. *scratches head about calculations with point resets*
That would account for some of the inflation of the score. Missing logs for the rest.
chipv wrote:Ok I have a further adjusted algorithm for highest ever score for people with point resets.
How about if their score differs from current by more than 1000 then they must have had a points reset?
(The only alternative is that they lost 1000+ pts in one week in Feb 08)

Sounds like it would be the most simplest and effective method- until (if ) the Battle Royal ends. I'm not quite sure how the mini-BRs would affect it. On average I think it's a 500 point swing per win. Those are the only things I could think of that would yield spikes of +1000.chipv wrote:Ok I have a further adjusted algorithm for highest ever score for people with point resets.

I can detect BRs from the number of players so I need to consider those before making the decision about point resets, thanks, so I suppose the last fly in the ointment would be if there was a Battle Royale in Feb 2008 - was there?Scott-Land wrote:Sounds like it would be the most simplest and effective method- until (if ) the Battle Royal ends. The last BR is still active but they've had some mini ones where I believe some may have one multiple ones-- if they combined for more than 1000 points I don't know. I'm guessing it's pretty safe to assume it shouldn't affect your current data and if so, there have only been one player where it catapulted them into the Top10/Conqueror-- Genghis CA's brother-- can't think of his name tho' .chipv wrote:I can detect BRs from the number of players so I need to consider those before making the decision about point resets, thanks, so I suppose the last fly in the ointment would be if there was a Battle Royale in Feb 2008 - was there?Scott-Land wrote:Sounds like it would be the most simplest and effective method- until (if ) the Battle Royal ends. If you're at 5364, I want my 5520 : Ppoo-maker wrote:Very nice, i guess that's the end of the countless top 10 threads then![]()

I map ranked myself a few times, and my high score on the current high scores list is 5364. I checked JR's thread and it says 5205 there, so something doesn't add up. I'm not really sure how that could happen, since the missing logs wouldn't have any impact on a recorded score in JR's thread (and i'm pretty sure i would have been v.accurate with my high-scores while i was still chasing them).
Your highest score is actually 5205 - this was after Feb 2008.poo-maker wrote:Very nice, i guess that's the end of the countless top 10 threads then![]()

thanks Chip. I hope you get it worked out. In the meantime I am still manually updating my thread. It will be a nice break after 3 years of not having to keep updating it any longer.chipv wrote:Your highest score is actually 5205 - this was after Feb 2008.poo-maker wrote:Very nice, i guess that's the end of the countless top 10 threads then![]()

Map Rank has 4548.Your real score = 4389 = Map Rank - 159
Map Rank chart shows highest score = 5364. Real highest score (since after Feb 2008) = 5364 - 159 = 5205.
I will be putting this calculation in next version of Map Rank, just wait, people.
