They lost to ID in the clan league, 12-8.

again 20 games should not count

needs to a minimum of 40 or it's a joke, I personally am being nice about this, I prefer 60 to 100, and settled for 40, and others have agreed with 40, but still no change on this?

And, JP, did you add our 35-5 win over DBC, this just occured, so probably not, but this should help us a little.

Why do you think I was so fed up in the private CLA forums.... guess it is 20 because the only clan we tied in a 10 game series was against you guys and we weren't in the same division.

No, it is just 10 games-- just checked. And thota lost to G1 not ID. I thought it was IA. lol--

It really is 20... Our one "loss" was the 20 games we played against the goons in the league.

EDIT: after looking into it a bit, I concede that the W-L-T might be incorrect, since jp's own clan has an incorrect record. Bear with me: in the ladder AoD is listed as 7-5-0. In the challenge results thread, AoD's record is 9-4-0, but 3 of the wins and one of the losses must be discounted, since they represent challenges fewer than 20 games. That leaves them with a record of 6-3-0, without counting the league. Once you factor in the league (wins against SF and the Legion, losses to LoW and the Monkis), their true record would be 8-5-0...

I have not added recent results like the THOTA destruction of ?.

There is currently a poll for a higher game limit, (should put that to a formal vote soon) and the next proposed ladder being discussed eliminates the league data from Season 1.

10 or 20 has never been the major issue-- it's counting the win/loss in league as a clan challenge. I have no problem using the data from the league to represent a higher game count to determine win% but to categorize them equally with challenges is where I disagree. If JP wants to categorize results; then either use those w/l records within clan leagues, and/or have a separate column for clan challenges, or even categorize the league in it's entirety-- keeping track of all 20 game sets. Cross referencing data isn't the way to go.

Has the idea of a Challenge Committee been suggested? Have a representative from each active clan sit on this and air the views of his fellow clan members. This way the info can be disseminated via the clan forum (reaching every player yet greatly reducing workload and volume of input on threads such as this) until the Committee has enough feedback to arrive at a sensible set of rules which will, in theory, represent the views held by the majority.

Apologies if this idea is old hat or is already being done (and if so, where?). My old PC's not too adept at whizzing thru forums as the browser crashes if I load too much info (that's why I can't play stacking games - anything beyond Round 70 is too much to load and I'm doomed lol)

Each clan that qualifies has 2 members in the CLA. I guess that may be the same idea.

They are not a competitive clan, just more of a social group.

We won tons of challenges here. Well before those sorry ass clans you got ranked now. These rankings are a joke. No offense.

I'm taking this matter to the high courts. They won't be happy about this.

Offense taken.

Then prove it with threads. I went thhrough every single thread in callouts (thousands!) in the forum cleanup and did not note any challenges. I know the Bushwhackers were in defunct league, but that is not a challenge. As for the clans above, they have all had challenges in the last 2 years. What has your group done in the last 2 years? Please show me the threads and or games and I can add your group.

I just noticed that we (the legion) have played more games than Any other clan, with AOD being the only one close. Does this get taken into account?

I 'm wondering specifically because a clan like left4dead is in the first tier with only 3 matches played, with an established clan like Gen 1 behind them with 11 completed challenges.

I see the reliability factor, but maybe the weights need to get re-tooled.

There is curerently an experimental 3rd ladder being discussed in the CLA. I need to update it and send it out for a vote soon I think. It is more closely related to the 1st ladder which was ELO based, but is also similar in ways to the 2nd ladder above that is RPI based. That ladder does include a variety of new weightings for quality of opponents, number of games etc and expected results.

Up until a few weeks ago Nemesis was a Div2 clan that had a bitch fest to play in Div1. Fast forward 3 weeks into the CLA and they're 3rd overall. Wow-- congrats.

Good catch, they were the last clan added to the pre-sort table. At least they have the same lookup values. :)

I can promise you that we didn't come up with the methodology. (and sorry about the b*tch fest...wasn't our finest moment. )

I know this is a highly subjective task and coming up with the proper weighting is difficult, if not impossible. Personally (speaking strictly for myself, not the clan), I think that the number of challenging should have more weight...even though it will lower the rank of Nemesis...FOR NOW!!

Thanks for the hard work. =D> =D>

Hiya Scot,
Probably you are correct with the point you are making about with a few exceptions.
1. We deserved to be in Div 1, many will agree with that.
2. This table updates itself monthly maybe more, and in a month many stuff comes and goes. You are maybe aware of it that, we had 78-79 points in this table together with 0.85 constant multiplied with our actual point. When you make a calculation of 1/0.85 * our previous point = our current point.

Anyway, i would like to add these,
I dont believe nemesis to be #3 clan right now, we still need to do a lot to get there, the current picture is temporal one. And, lots of systems have their weak sides. On the other hand, we believe that nemesis is inside the top 10 clan, somewhere around #8- #9, but now it is so, and trust me...
Anyway, JPCloet and Marval are doing great job in whatever place they would put nemesis no matter. Thanks to them :D

Cheers, H.A. O:)
