I've got a USB adapter for my PS2 controller so I just configure the old N64 buttons onto that. Makes playing the old games a heck of a lot easier.TeletubbyPrince wrote:Zelda's a bitch to play with the WASD keys.Titanic wrote:

Actually I disagree, I much prefer the cod5 maps (though I could do with a mod which put a few of the cod3 maps back in) wheras cod4 has a couple that really annoy me (although i find most of it awesome) 4 also has loads of annoying things such as no splitscreen, no co-op campaign and a variety of lesser niggles, some-although not all-of which were fixed in cod5.Titanic wrote:COd4 > Cod 5. The maps are much better thought out and much more fun. The only thing #5 has going for it is the zombie level (which is awesome).Balsiefen wrote:Wow, how is cod4 beating cod5 for multiplayer- It's crude as hell!
TF2 and halo3 got my vote but Farcry 2 is also really good-I don't think any other games have anything like the same level of custom content and it really adds a lot to the game to have a completely new map every round that everyone has to learn from scratch.

Wait. What's with the "2004" up there. I meant to vote for the one I played in 2000, or so.Timminz wrote:Unreal Tournament!

cod4 has no splitty? What the hell have I been playing while at my friends house? We play a 4-way split. Unless you meant no splits-online play(I think that's probably it, which is the only thing I dislike about it)? - for the XboxBalsiefen wrote:Actually I disagree, I much prefer the cod5 maps (though I could do with a mod which put a few of the cod3 maps back in) wheras cod4 has a couple that really annoy me (although i find most of it awesome) 4 also has loads of annoying things such as no splitscreen, no co-op campaign and a variety of lesser niggles, some-although not all-of which were fixed in cod5.Titanic wrote:COd4 > Cod 5. Yes, it's an online mod based on Goldeneye. It's awesome, with updated graphics.Titanic wrote:Yer roms and emulators rock! 2004 is generally regarded as the best in the series. I'm not sure if it's predecessors are still played, but if you can provide an argument I will add the classic Unreal Tournament (1999) to the list.Timminz wrote:Wait. What's with the "2004" up there. I don't care if it gets added to your list. But it was a pretty groundbreaking game. Not to mention wicked-fun.TeletubbyPrince wrote:2004 is generally regarded as the best in the series. I'm too old to have a proper opinion of fps games.

Interesting, you've been playing the campaign? I know it has splitscreen but two guys, one of which has barely played before, stuck in a map made for sixteen people and told to run around for hours for a second and a half of shooting is all I've managed to find-it was hardly what I was imagining when I saw it on the back of the box.Strife wrote:cod4 has no splitty? Re: Best Competitive FPS Game
I'm surprised no Battlefield series is on there. I still occasionally play Battlefield 1942 with Road to Rome and the Desert Combat mod. That was probably the best user made mod ever. I'd vote for Battlefield 1942 based on sheer value and community made quality.
Also (i know I'm old school) what about Ghost Recon? That was one game where run and gun simply did not work. More times than not, one shot was death. That required a large amount of teamwork, cover, and stealth, something not seen in most (if not all) of the polled games. In terms of realism, that takes my vote too.

You kind of have a case for Battlefield, but I'm not so sure about Ghost Recon. I don't think GR has ever had a large competitive following... Although if you can prove me wrong, I'll add it.safariguy5 wrote:I'm surprised no Battlefield series is on there. Battlefield 1942 added btw.
EDIT: Goddamnit, it reset the votes when I added Battlefield. OK, that was the first and last game I'm adding to the list, cause that's gay how it reset... seriously who designed this thing?
