Re: Mentoring Pilot Program
Hello
I would like to be a mentee. I rate myself a 3.
I've played for a few months, mostly in private games with the same group of guys, and now I'm looking to expand into more public arenas. It seems I am out-classed, though.
My preferred games are standard - I keep it simple. Whether spoils are involved or not doesn't seem to faze me, it's my same blunt strategy that dooms me either way. My primary problem is pace and maintaining a lead, though overall improvement is my goal.
Anyone willing to toss a few crumbs my way? Thanks

Re: Mentoring Pilot Program
I don't mind mentoring anyone in basic team games:
Would say I was:
3 - I can hold my own in most games and have played the top ranks regurlarly
Strengths:
3 and 4 player team game strategy - spoils/no spoils
No spoils basic all v all games (5-8 players)

Re: Mentoring Pilot Program
The term you're looking for is protege. Much easier on the ears than mentoree (which is not a word). I'm a doctoral student and my research is in mentoring, so I'm at least qualified to clear up the semantic nightmare created by the first post.
Otherwise, I'm really interested in how this turns out. Could make for a great study!
Best,
Laci

Re: Mentoring Pilot Program
OK I think I'm finally at a point where I would be willing to help mentor new players.
Many thanks to BaldAdonis for helping me. go ahead, take a bow, lol
Anyway, I've still got a lot to learn, but I would be willing to help beginning players learn how to play on new maps. I've played almost all of them.
I would rate myself as a 3.
I don't play many freestyle or assassin games, though, so don't ask me about that!!!
As a 1v1 player, i would put myself at a 4.
I am also interested in teaching players how to play team games effectively (AS long as they are willing to learn with me, It's always a process!!!)
I am also willing to help new members find suitable clans if they are interested, teach them about the boards, Bob and so on.
Any takers?

dvan, as a premium member, you can invite people to games. Therefore, you can invite me to team games, terminator, whatever rules and maps, and I will teach you.

A mentor would be pretty nice. I'd say I'm a 3 on the scale. Just general help getting the hang of different strategies.

Ok, my last student has completed his training. I'm just about ready to take on a new student. Send me a pm if you are interested.Georgerx7di wrote:Hello, not sure if i posted here already. I would like to mentor someone, preferably in dubs, although terminator or standard is ok too.
Edit: I have found a student for now. I will come back and post again when I am ready to take on another.
Thanks,

Re: Mentoring Pilot Program
I'm willing to mentor if someone needs it. I'd rate myself a 3 for team games, 4 for escalating multiplayer, and a 3 for other types except 1 v 1.
Re: Mentoring Pilot Program
sign me up for as a mentor...
i am a top player, strengths are feudal map, doubles, adjacent forts, and escalating spoils

Re: Mentoring Pilot Program
I always help people who ask, but I mostly play 1 vs 1 and the more unusual maps.
I am only good at a few, though I am one of the people who has won several times on every map. I can particularly steer people to what kind of maps they might like.

Everyone's a 3, mentors and mentees. Everyone please stop rating yourself, its getting retard. You can read 5 pages in here and not find anyone who doesn't rate themselves a 3.Timmy Two Steps wrote:Hello

Re: Mentoring Pilot Program
I can be a mentor to someoe. I may not have very high of a rank yet because of number of games played on here, but I definitely know how to play the game expertly. I have also played games very similar to this on other sites and are high up in their rankings.
I am best at non-team games and free style games. I prefer no spoils games but it doesn't affect my performance. I also have created a list of the best tactics and tips to use in games that I have found to work effectively. If you want me to rate myself I would say a 4.5/5.
I consider myself a great tactition and strategist and knowlegible in key areas of gameplay

Re: Mentoring Pilot Program
I'd like to be taken under someone's wing please. I'm new to the site but I've played several types of risk in real life and I'm catching on quickly. I've taken a liking to 1v1s of No Spoils, Chained & Fog at the moment but I'd certainly like to expand into all kinds of games, particularly teams. Perhaps someone interested in teaching me could contact me privately?

Could somebody please train me? I'm new to Conquer Club, obviously, but not to the game. I expect things to be different here though, and it's nice to see that there are other risk sites with forums
