It could look something like this (but fancier seeing how i'm just typing into this message box)
Individual:
1st's - 12
2nd's - 22
3rd's - 6
4th's - 17
5th's - 4
6th's - 1
Doubles:
1st's - 4
2nd's - 5
3rd's - 1
Triples:
1st's - 0
2nd's - 1
that way, they know what kind of games you generally play, excel at, and don't excel at... it'd be like a scouting tool, as well as something cool to look up for each person's profile. It's the same thing as a win/loss record, only more precise. This pretty much eliminates the win/loss record anyways, b/c ppl that play lots of team games w/ the same partner would have higher win/loss records than people that play mainly individual games.
I think this would draw more people to keep playing to make their record look better...

yeah I would love seeing something like that... I think that I am going to datamine my own stats and throw them up on my website
People teach their dogs to sit, it's a trick. I've been sitting my whole life, and a dog has never looked at me as though he thought I was tricky.
I will troy, I just need to do some more work on it - I don't want to throw incomplete shit out.Tr0y wrote:n1 vic... open source it
But even then, this solution is not very practical for most people for the following reasons:-
a) you have to input your own data
b) you need a mysql database
c) you need webspace!
Ideally, this should be available from conquerclub itself, or well they should atleast be able to throw you a data dump of your own games.
It would be amazing if they let you secure connect to their database so that you can mine your stats realtime! Then I would totally be willing to put a lot more work into it and make it super snazzy hehehe.
Anyhow, for the moment if someone can write an html parser to grab raw data from the "all games you have played" page, I can still write a script to generate the database from that data.
For now, if you have any suggestions as to what stats you'd like to see let me know, and I'll implement the sql

I just updated the script to show all the maps that I have played by game type and my win/loss ratio on each map by game type.
WOOT!!!
I think that I am going to call it a night, I think they look pretty ok for now. I will wait for some feedback before throwing it out into the public domain

dude there is a table right in the middle that shows the number or doubles, triples, standard and terminator games that i have played along with the number of wins...
at present, only the people doing database development can add this. I have created my own database and enter in the games that I play manually to keep the stats up to date.
I have shown this to lack, and he mentioned writing a parser to grab all the game data. I might implement it, I might not - i have a lot of school work to do too :p

mrhuhn wrote:why don't you add a TOTAL column at the bottom of each of your tables, that way we don't have to add them up to see how often you won your doubles matches for example.
and how can we get this feature added to CC?

i dont understand english very well but i still try to understand i think that there is a diference between the profile of the forum and the big profile(the one that can be seen by clicking the name of the user in a game)
beacose the forum one shows a couple of things maybe my idea could be used in both

Player statistics
Suggestion: Player stats on- how many singles/dubs/trips games they play
-how many of each rank they play
-wins/losses stats
Why?- Because of all the discussion lately about finding out how good a player is, - change is needed
Priority: 2
