Re: Off-Topics Forum Research Poll
i just think you move the off topics to the top of the forum to increase traffic and decrease confusion... it worked for the foundry...-0
p.s.-no split, it isn't necessary...

And incidentally, you didn't give a voting option of "hands off".

Yeah, I think that if such an option existed it would have drawn heavy support...

Re: Off-Topics Forum Research Poll
It looks like the largest percentage of votes are for splitting off religion and politics. I suspect that a lot of those voting there are not ones who participate in either. If they are split off, I would like to see them combined. Those people who discuss one seem generally drawn to the other. Also, the two tend to get fairly intertwined.
maybe another topic would be games, in general (discussion of) one-line and off?
Or simply "misc." non-serious topics.

Re: Off-Topics Forum Research Poll
Games and gaming might actually be a good sub topic. I'd visit it.
But again, you have eleven people here saying that no split is needed.

Not for me, it doesn't. I referenced multiple fora (forii? <grin>)Optimus Prime wrote: 1. If a split is made of any kind, they will not be sub-forums, but rather full forums listed directly below the general "off-topics" forum. I don't know if that changes anyone's thoughts or not, but I saw the word sub-forum being thrown around a lot and don't want to give the wrong impression.

Re: Off-Topics Forum Research Poll
As an update on this...
After giving time for feedback and suggestions to come in, and weighing the benefits of the idea it looks like we won't be doing any splitting of the off-topics forum for the time being. That could always change in the future sometime, but for now we'll be leaving things as they are.
I've de-stickied this to get it out of the way now.

Just kidding. I actually think the correct call has been made...it sometimes feels like this is a forum of nothing but political discussion, and if we created a sub forum it would just move all the posting down a forum....
