Don't understand freedom? Where do you think modern democracy and freedom was invented? In EUROPE! Btw calling you fat is not a compliment, it is an insult against the horrible society that you live in. Btw, you think we're not free to eat as much as we are? Glen nails it in Common Sense ...... with the exception of page 90. (Those of you who have the book can look at pg. 90 and you'll know what I mean)
They have pitted Americans against each other! Dems vs. Repubs! Rich vs. poor! And as long as they succeed in doing that, which they seem to have no trouble doing, they can continue to re-shape the U S of A! This new shape resembles NOTHING of freedom! Wake up! The founding fathers would be sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo disappointed.

Unfortunately your analysis is actually quite accurate.GabonX wrote:He's from the UK, the new home of liberal fascism, and seems to completely support the trampling of the rights of his own countrymen.
Though to be perfectly honest, it is mostly the Londoners who tend to be of the 'liberal-fascism' (as you put it) mindset, and they tend to be more vocal.
For a long time now, the 'London project' has been systematically spreading throughout the capital and beyond it's borders into the home counties, bastardising and corrupting education establishments and creating a whole new politically-motivated syllabus to appeal to the social-engineering, bloated council authorities. It's a place where learning about 'domestic violence', teenage pregnancy' and 'YOOF KULCHAR' has taken precedence over basic numeracy and maths.
The entire city spawns hopeless degenerates.
Don't judge them too harshly - it simply isn't their fault.

I swear that sometimes it so hard to separate the trolls and the dumb fucks. I mean, some of the stupid shit PhatScotty says makes me retch. I would immediately discount him as in it for the lulz if I hadn't seen the rock-level intelligence of the Sarah Palin types during the election. I sometimes wonder if those sacks of ignorance actually think at all.

Re: 3rd Great Awakening in American History
I don't know what you think the great awakenings were, but it's obvious you have no clue. They were movements within the church away from "religion" and cold formalism and toward a personal encounter with the living God, which leads to repentance of sin, love for God and therefore love for others, and a commitment to have your faith have an impact on your life.Phatscotty wrote:***Before you blab on this post, please be familiar with at least 1 of the other great awakenings in our history. If you aren't, you will miss the point completely***
Although both great awakenings had profound impact on the way Americans think, which contributed to social and political change (especially the second g.a. in the 1840's which, with its emphasis on righteousness and justice spurred the abolitionist, temperance, and prison reform movements), neither of them had anything to do with anything you have been talking about in this thread.
The right answer to the wrong question is still the wrong answer to the real question.
Re: 3rd Great Awakening in American History
No doubt abolition, temperance and especially prison reform would be viewed with disgust by Mr Fatty, an afront to his ' Freedom ' you see.daddy1gringo wrote:I don't know what you think the great awakenings were, but it's obvious you have no clue. The current fundamental question is whether healthcare is a basic right, to which everyone needs/should have access, or a priviliage that can rightfully be denied some. Its actually more touchy and far more difficult than either the food or housing issues, becuase for everyone to have healthcare means everyone else will have to pay more, at least temporarily. The debate is over whether the ultimate cost will be greater or if it can be decreased by creating a more even system and over how to accomplish that.

Not only is socialism every individual's right, it is also the sum total of all individual rights.
To put it another way: Socialism is all about individual rights, to argue against that is futile.

Re: 3rd Great Awakening in American History
To be fair, she wasn't calling it that. She was saying that the issue was clarifying whether or not it is an individual right. I disagree with Players on most political issues, but that was a false accusation.jay_a2j wrote:PLAYER57832 wrote:Clarifying individual rights is socialist?Frigidus wrote:SOCIALIST! Nobody but a barbarian or a mediaeval serf would argue that it wasn't a fundamental human right. Are you a serf?
I mean, unless of course you're just a NWO-Puppet who wants to deny the population healthcare in order to render them weak and helpless, making your conquest of them even simpler when the 'time' comes.

No one is denied healthcare in the US. This is not a "right". I don't remember reading, "Life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness AND affordable healthcare"
Generation Y- the entitlement generation.
