Not Extending Premium

we are all ombudsman. we all make our suggestions, and many of us make them all the time. It is wildly unrealistic, to think that one person could possibly speak for all the players of CC. It is a wildly fragmented populous, and the ombudsman, as cool as the term is, would just be a waste of time. No one person, could possibly represent those that want flame wars back, and those that thank the day it was deleted. And that is just one example.

AAFitz, i don't think you understand what an ombudsman does. it would be someone affiliated with CC, but who could sort through internal and external complaints without an agenda, and criticize conquer club when it needs to be criticized and back up CC on decisions when correct. i would love to see conquer club hire/have someone to do the same thing. this wouldn't be a person that tried to get things "done" or "passed" for the community. it would be a CC appointed person who investigated complaints by members against conquer club and gave his/her opinion on the matter in a transparent way to help move the community/cc forward... just tossing that out there...-0

And what happens if said ombudsman comes down on the side of CC. Will he/she have to suffer the almost continuous abuse the mods suffer now?

one post each pointing out the fallacies of the powers that be... that is not breaking a rule, that is not skirting a rule, that is just one of those unwritten rules that have now taken a toll on their cumulative ban total... see how silly this escalating ban garbage is. neither of them did anything, and they are now on their merry way to the great big BAN in the sky... but hey, they can appeal or ask for clarification of the ruling, like i have over my threatened perma-ban, and not receive word from a mod or admin for over a month. nah, nothing to see here, move along kids...-0

After correspondence with Andy where I gave him the full, undeleted mod apology I received, where the mod admitted having played favs for a pet (the situation extended for about 5 months before I left CC in March) - and offered ideas for how situations like this could be avoided...

Andy gave the same, "mods are only human," tagline, then made a complaint that too many want to talk and no one wants to help.

Man, I resent that!

I'd been a paying member.
I'd been making tourneys.
I was offering premiums for some of my tourneys.
I'd been a reasonable contributor to newsletters; News Hound in the tourney newsletter, and some research for the main CC newsletter.
I was toying with programming for a couple of map ideas.
A few people had tried to nominate me to be a mod (but of course, with the situation as it was, that fell flat lol)

BECAUSE of "mod favoritism" enabling systemic harassment - which is now ADMITTED by one of the mods - I stopped contributing and felt I had to leave "areas where the harassment is ongoing" - which included chat, games, and forums.

But I was only talk, no willingness to help. That's the message you sent, Andy. Received. Loud and clear.

Answering my suggestion that any complaint get warned, Andy responded, "A system of warning every complaint will not work because not all complaints violate rules." Wrong, Andy. Your response doesn't address the situation of 'mod favoritism' because, under no-flames rules, any C&A I ever filed, any pm of complaint or eticket I ever sent, did constitute a legitimate flaming complaint.

"If you feel you cannot move forward," is doublespeak for "use ignore."

Same old byline.

Alas, my hopes are dashed for CC's continuous improvement.......

Well, I donate every year to the Police. Do I get to break the law now?

Im not saying ron should be banned. However, monetary contributions actually mean nothing in the end...well, until they get real big. But for the massive sum of $200 I dont think someone is going to adjust their policy... now that would be a mother of a joke!

Especially when you figure out the percentage that that is of the total revenue.

i leaning towards not, after reading many threads, and witnessing first hand. i believe certain individuals do get better dice than others. it seems whenever my score gets about 2250 , i cant roll worth a dam. also non payers wether question marks or ranked seem to have better dice whenever i play them, possibly to get them to join. anyone who thinks these things are not possible are morons , its easy to very easy to write code that can effect outcomes..

I think it may be worth your time monitoring this statistic to see if the current trend is just a seasonal blip, or the tip of an iceberg.

The thing is, lack doesn't seem to care that much about CC to care unless he is seriously loosing tons of money. He has other sites that are more profitable than CC CC isn't his main source of income.
