Create a forum where 2 players who have "issues" can argue things out without dragging public threads out.
This will improve the following aspects of the site:
- OK, I can't say I really expect this suggestion to take, I mean, I think that is sort of why Flame wars was eliminated. Still, maybe (?) it could work. I if nothing else, I thought voicing it would give people a chuckle.
However, it does occur to me that this community operates a little like any other in that people can have arguments, etc. Sometimes just telling each party to "take a break and cool it" is enough (i.e. short ban), but sometimes that does nothing to resolve issues if there really is something behind the arguments.
So, my idea is a private forum that would be opened up only the the respective parties. You could argue that Pms more or less do the same thing, except maybe in this case each person could pick some members to be a "jury' or some such. Also, people too often wind up foeing/ disallowing "offending" members from pms. And, because no one else sees pms, there might be a bit much temptation to go too far.
Maybe a kind of "jury" (and a moderator jsut to make sure things don't go too too far, into real threats, etc. for a time.
Anyway.... Like I said, I know there are a lot of problems with this idea, but I also suspect I am not the only one frustrated right now by both the petty conflicts and the general lack of ... well, maybe "fun" is the right word.
