Zep - you've taken all of our critiques and applied them to the map. You've been patient and not given up. Plus your graphic skills have surely improved since you started. I've got nothing else to comment on, at least for the graphics end. The map looks done to me. Nice job on following through with the whole foundry process. Final Forge should be just around the corner.

I share RJ's sentiment---you've definitely showed how a relatively newcomer to the Foundry can have great success with patience, endurance, and vision.RjBeals wrote:Zep - you've taken all of our critiques and applied them to the map. Something to contemplate upon your return:
If you have sound reasons for not having Dog's Ear-Button and West Traole-East Traole, I'm all ears. Otherwise those small corridors of land look... weird, like there should be a roughly sketched (in keeping with graphic theme) impassable there...
Also, still think a few of the names could be spruced up and made a bit more pirate-y (generally speaking, terits with a direction in their names), and t'would be great if FE could have a proper (small, 3-4 character) name rather than an initialization that doesn't really make any sense.
Beyond that, gamepay looks pretty good to go.

Another point for your return zep.
The only thing (to me) that ruins the athetics is the crisp map edge at the ends of the map. Those contrast with the rugged and torn parchement effect. Try to ruffle up those edges a little like this, oh, and could ou try and line up the fold at the top right corner? it has always look a little off to me.

Overall thou, you have done a fantastic job to get this far. Nice work LED.

My high school English teacher would have had a fit, you did one of her pet peeves: their side, not there side.
I'd also put a comma after "wide" in this same line. though, I'm really not sure if that's required, I'm known to be comma-happy...
And you should probably capitalize the names of the territs in the next line, since they're capitalized on the map. Though, it looks like you may have left them lowercase for space purposes. I also can't tell if that's a comma or a period after "cast" in the bottom line, if it's a period it should be a comma.

Excellent suggestion, especially the last bit. In fact, you might want to go one further and bold the names of the territories, so that people know that the text contains gameplay instructions and isn't merely a bit of decoration.ustus wrote:My high school English teacher would have had a fit, you did one of her pet peeves: their side, not there side.

For those connections that you mentioned, i think i will just connect them. i see no reason why they cannot be connected. i will try with better names.Incandenza wrote:Something to contemplate upon your return:

Thank you for the catch, i will try to have the riddle completely error free by my next version.ustus wrote:My high school English teacher would have had a fit, you did one of her pet peeves: their side, not there side.

that doesn't sound to piratey to me. i will leave it as isDanyael wrote: Maybe to stay with the pirate theme their should be thar
Thank you everybody for the feedback while i was gone, i will try to take all of your comments, and come out with a new version shortly.

v27
ok, so ive had a little time. I think i adressed all of your issues, so here it is. Hopefully with this we can get gameplay on the road.

Looks pretty good to me. If anyone has further gameplay suggestions, now's the time.

Well, Zep, I can't guarantee that people won't swarm in here down the road and nitpick the gameplay some more, but I'm pretty well satisfied, so I'd say this map is ready to progress.

Well done.

Well done.

Noice.
I'll see if I have any lingering graphic concerns later.

Some of the text is a little hard to read, but people can just enlarge it, so whatever.
The yellow bonus is too big, mabey like 6 is better. Have you considered makeing purple 3 and adding a connectioin between dead and the ear? It would make it more open.

Hi Led,
If you ever pop back on the radar anytime soon could you pop both the large and small up together for a looksie by me? Apart from the size of the text (already mentioned) on the small I think this one is almost ready to see a graphics stamp.
Cheers,
gimil
