I don't quite see the point in voting. What do we get? The only reward I see from voting is that CC gets more publicity and possibly more users.

I think the site currently has enough users to keep my games constantly full, I have never seen a complaint for the site to have more users in my short time I have been here.

So what is the benefit of winning? Lack to get more ?free? advertising? Well I am not in the mood for doing favors for Lack.

Incentives? I would like DM back and I will vote every day on whatever site you want for 2 weeks. If you bring him back and let him write articles in the newsletter without censoring them I will vote for the original 2 weeks plus 4 weeks. That's a month and a half! All for 1 user and some extra privileges, how can you go wrong!?

why did i vote, because i like to think my favorite site is getting bigger and better, not to mention i think lack deserves more money for this site. (its about time he put some advertisement on it (not too much though, only 1 or 2))

As for the giving out free goodies, i dont think its such a great idea. people should just vote because they love us rather than just for free goodies, but however it could make people see how great premiums is after playing a speed game everyday and want to end up with more, so more people will proberly end up buying premium.

As 4myGod said, I don't really see any point in voting. So CC gets to be #1; so what? It doesn't change anything. I voted for a while but quit because it seemed pointless.

As for giving away free points when voting, I would oppose that idea.

I don't think the free points thing would ever happen.

These types of contests can just be fun things to do once in a while. The whole community gathers together and fights for a cause of some sort. Since you are "battling" other online communities it takes dedication and teamwork to come in first.

A similar notion is Drawball. It's a big sketch area where anyone can doodle for free. Some forums have dedicated blocks that they draw their site's logo on, and other communities come and graffiti over the work. So you have to defend your work, and it takes a good amount of dedication/cooperation but it can be pretty fun.

Okay, but it still seems silly when you could rather spend that time on the site you like. I can understand a voting competition once in a while for the best gaming site, but what's the point of voting over and over and over every day for ages? Why not just get everyone to vote once and look at the results?
