Private to Public functionality?

Post by KingConan »

Have you given thought to the idea of creating functionality that allows a player to set up a game in private and allow him to make it public if he/she wishes?

This will improve the following aspects of the site:
  • This would allow people to set up team games and assemble their team as they wish and then make the game public to populate the opposing team.
  • This would prevent having to spam everyone the password or post it to a forum in order to populate the other team.
  • This would also prevent the danger of setting up a team game in public and then having people wander into your game onto your team by accident (or against your wishes).

I think similar suggestions have been made before, but I'm definitely in favour of this
Important Tournament Notice

The data for ALL of my tournaments has potentially been lost. I am working to recover it but as I am away on business all of this week, there will be some delay. Sincere apologies.

Here is another thread with essentially the same topic, and a fair amount of discussion. Might worth a look, or a merge.
Temporary 'Private' status during game creation.

I'm sure this on the to-do list. Really a wonder why it hasn't been done yet - unless Lack is on another holiday.

This also helps when you make a game for friends but end up like one or two spots empty, to get some people to play in it and the game moving.

Great idea, been suggested 1000 x in multiple threads by multiple people (including myself), everyone is in support of this idea.

For some reason cc wont make it happen.

I assume because you can just post a thread in the callouts about the game. :?

Brilliant, especially in light of the fact that about .2% of cc visits the forums.

Yep, Callouts are a lot less effective than the proposed option would be. So let's get on with it! :D
