I've apologized in these forums many times, when it was appropriate. Such is not the case here. The fact that you continue to go on and on about this does more to disrespect her than anything I've done in the thread. However, clearly the last part of my statement above doesn't apply to you, so I guess that's your "out".captain.crazy wrote:You can try to convince yourself of that, but the fact is, you used her to take a shot at me. I asked an honest question about how people felt about her death. It was meat to open a discussion on the matter, a serious matter. Your lack of compassion on the issue in your endless attempts to ridicule me, led you to be disrespectful of her, without even realizing it. All you have done is defend your calous words towards her.Woodruff wrote:I've apologized in these forums many times, when it was appropriate. Such is not the case here. Why don't you at least express your feelings on the issue of her death? What do you think about that? Or is it all just a big joke to you.

I've seen far more death in my life than I certainly ever cared to. This particular situation is so much not a joke to me that I feel it's important to be able to find some humor in the situation. I'm sure you won't be able to comprehend that, nor do I particularly care.captain.crazy wrote:I asked an honest question about how people felt about her death. Re: Neda Salehi
My thoughts are this. I am not convinced that anybody stole the elections. I was wondering where were those exit polls conducted. Of course if you conduct them in cities than it would indicate that larger percentage voted for Mousavi. However if I am not mistaken Iran has quite a large rural population which seems to side with Ahmadinejad (and there are quite a few that vote for Ahmadinejad in cities too). Western countries (USA and UK) have a long history of intervening and meddling into elections (e.g. most recently Ukraine) and I am not convinced they didn't do it this time. Actually I would question what are interests of Saudi Arabia and/or Egypt in all of this. I am not sure how much they appreciate a leadership role of Muslim world that Iran is slowly taking over.
But to answer your question she is a tragic victim but there are many more children that die right now of hunger, malaria, and God knows what simply because they were not born in the right place while some chubby kid is slurping happily away on his Big Mac and milkshake. As tragic as the death of that lady may be there are many more deaths that nobody notices or pretends not to notice so that they do not have to start asking unpleasant questions. But on the other hand you can spin everything and find an excuse. And that's all I have to say about that

I read you quite well. Rather than acknowledge that you have made a thoughtless mockery of this woman's death, you decided that you would suggest that you should make a joke about it. Also, I wonder how you think christ would have commented on your remarks. Do you think that He never has harsh words for the arrogant? I assure you, he did.
I heard today that the Iranian government has now evicted the woman's family from their home.

Re: Neda Salehi
To honor her as a "freedom fighter"? I'd say we need a helluva lot more. I was sitting here marveling at your referring to this unfortunate woman as a "lioness", since i heard on the news that she was an innocent bystander, when someone (Player) finally brought up the fact that she was not one of the protesters. Do you have any idea how ignorant you sound to praise her as a "lioness" when she was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time? She is no more a "lioness" than the murdered students at Kent State were anti-war demonstrators. She will be, as they were, a symbol of innocent life lost to tyrannical abuse of power - that should be enough without all the hype.mpjh wrote:She was unarmed; standing on the sidewalk near a peaceful demonstration.
