Also how bout changing the map...standard map doesn't really fit the theme of the tournament. Since we are warriors fighting battles to see who is the deadliest...Peloponnesian War seems a bit more fitting. Sunny, esc, unlimited?
What ya think?

I think Pelopennesian War would not fit 1v1, although its a great map. Plus, it's too damn Euro-centric ;) .

That's great 1v1 map, there are few tournaments already using it for 1v1 games. Also Euro Centric is good, considering it's at the center of the world and most all famous war groups can somehow be connected to Europe. It also has famous battle sites marked on the map. Also takes a bit of skill instead of just random luck of the drop.

Good point with regard to the skill vs drop issue. The same could be said for Galapagos or New World maps (though I acknowledge your point with respect to the battle focus of the Pelopennesian War map). I don't really see the argument with regards to the benefits of its geography considering the warriors many of us are choosing to represent. Nonetheless, if people want that map, I would certainly go along.

OutSider, GrimReaper, cowboyz, harvmax, skepticCS, anthroguy, carl2216, coacheberhardt, and topper are all in. Sorry gawdofwar, you were just a little too late.

For the map we could do something based off your warrior. So two "home" games and two away then one random. We have the players now so over the next couple days we can decide as a group which maps to play. As for the settings Unlimited and Chained are unrepresentative of what an actual battle between two warriors would be like. As for Escalating I think that Flat Rate better represents the practiced skill and wisdom of a great warrior. However, if you all feel otherwise we can make it Escalating.
I seen lots 'o fights. To win ya gotta bash hard and not get bashed back.

Stick with the map and settings that were posted in the first post. If people don't like them, why did they join this??????

That sounds cool
2 maps home 2 maps away and 1 will be the official map of the tourney.

Maybe make a poll as to what map that will be?

So far New World and Pelopennesian War...any other ideas?

Well if we're going to choose a "home" map then I'll do the Caribbean, but the New World and Pelopennesian are fine for standards to me.

Also, if we're discussing settings, I would suggest sequential over freestyle. Especially for a 1v1 tourny.

Agreed that freestyle is not for tourneys...sequential for sure

How bout home game we pick our own settings...

as far as flat rate...that just adds luck of cards into it. Id say for the standard tourney map either no cards or esc. Just my opinion

All good points. We can change it to sequential, no cards. I think the settings will be constant across all games.
As for the official map I think we should use something simple that represents no part of our world but is still a battlefield like Castle Lands or some such.

I don't think home maps will work considering that there are three warriors from greece and several native american warriors. Another alternative would be to play five totally random maps. Personally I think this will work best and gives noone the oppurtunity to practice up on the specific maps.
So random maps, 1v1, sequential, sunny, no cards, adjacent.
I will prevent the maps from being Solar System or Chinese Checkers so that all the games will take place in real battlefields or territories that our warriors have fought on.
This work for everyone?
