An inbox that can hold more messages than the current 50
Specifics:
I was thinking maybe 100?
This will improve the following aspects of the site:
My inbox is constantly full as I organise and participate in lots of tournaments, so I get lots of messages every day
It would mean that people (like clumsy, forgetful me) wouldn't lose messages so easily

You can create up to 3 folders to organize your PMs, including incoming ones. You can also change your permissions to hold any PMs if you have more than 50 in your box. There's a thread in the Q&A forum that provides a bunch of Inbox Instructions.

I've done that and I'm still running into PM overflow issues. I'm having to clear out my segregated inboxes almost daily. So I second this suggestion.

You can always use the "Export" option to clean some house. I know I suffer from full inbox and folders as well---but I suppose it's good for me to clear out the messages once in a while.
