School’s Out For Summer 2009

It’s that wonderful time of the year again, when students take their last finals and leave town to go on vacations with their family and friends. This year, book your travel plans with your travel agent, Night Strike, to your dream destination.

I need 36 players to register for summer vacations. Booking charges do apply, so you must hold a premium account.

Round 1: Semester Finals (36 players)

It's finals time here at Conquer Club University. Random.org will assign players into 6-person classes. Each class gives 1 final, and the students only get 1 shot at it. Players will be assigned grades according to the order they finish (A, B, C, D, F, Slept Through It). Since most major classes require a 70% or above, only the top 3 grades from each class will advance.

CCU: 6 player, Flat Rate, Chained, Foggy

Round 2: Summer Travels (18 players)

School’s Out!!! Now its vacation time. Random.org will assign players into 3 divisions of 6 players each. Everyone will play a game on their chosen vacation destination, as well as the destination of everyone else in their division.
Here are the possible destinations for your summer travels (please pick one; destination can be chosen more than once):

American Civil War: Flat Rate, Chained, Foggy
    Arctic: No Cards, Chained, Foggy
    Canada: Escalating, Unlimited, Sunny
Caribbean Islands: Flat Rate, Chained, Sunny
    Charleston: Flat Rate, Unlimited, Sunny
The Citadel: No Cards, Unlimited, Sunny
Dust Bowl: No Cards, Unlimited, Foggy
    Great Lakes: Escalating, Chained, Sunny
King of the Mountains: No Cards, Chained, Foggy
    Montreal: Flat Rate, Adjacent, Sunny
    NYC: Escalating, Chained, Foggy
    Pearl Harbor: Escalating, Adjacent, Sunny
Poker Club: No Cards, Chained, Foggy
Prohibition Chicago: No Cards, Unlimited, Sunny
Puget Sound: Flat Rate, Unlimited, Foggy
Rail USA: Flat Rate, Unlimited, Sunny
San Francisco: Flat Rate, Adjacent, Foggy
    Texan Wars: Escalating, Adjacent, Sunny
USA Great Lakes: Flat Rate, Chained, Sunny
USA New England: Flat Rate, Chained, Foggy
    USA Rockies: Escalating, Adjacent, Foggy
    USA Southeast: Escalating, Unlimited, Sunny
USA Southwest: No Cards, Unlimited, Sunny
USA West: Flat Rate, Chained, Sunny
US Senate: Flat Rate, Adjacent, Sunny

*Note: Trip Settings are negotiable.

Points will be awarded to each participant based on finish. 0 points for last through 6 points for 1st (# 5 is skipped). The top 2 scorers from each division will advance to the finals. If there is a tie, those who tied will play a Classic Shapes, Flat Rate, Adjacent, Sunny with the winner advancing.

Round 3: Relaxing on the Beach (6 players)

Summer vacation would not be complete without a trip to the beach. The 6 finalists will have a “restful” trip to the beautiful beach at Cairns Coral Coast. It’s a short trip, so you have to make the most of your 1 day (game) there. The winner of the game will be recognized as having the best summer vacation.

CCC: Escalating, Chained, Sunny (of course!)

Tournament Notes:

  • All games will be Standard and Sequential
  • Your travel destination MUST be included with your tournament registration. (i.e. You plan your vacation before you find out whether or not you passed your class.) Failure to do so will place you on the reserve list until it is provided.
  • You have 48 hours to join each game. You will get 1 reminder before being replaced.
  • Alliances of any kind (aside from attacking the obvious leader) are not allowed.

Enjoy your summer vacation!

Prohibition Chicago: No Cards, Unlimited, Sunny <-- How can you visit 1930's Chicago? Seems impossible in 2009?

Also don't you think flat rate games will go locked up on CCU. I mean it has been proven over time they will lock up. In fact longest game ever on CC was on that map.

I am debating on joining still..

Because I'm good enough to provide some limited time travel. ;)
(No, the justification is that you're visiting the area, in this case Chicago, and learning about what happened there.)

As long as the top 3 are determined on CCU, it's fine if it runs long. I do need to add a round limit for Round 2 though. I'll take care of it later.

List updated.

Sorry, but AoR 3 is not allowed for this tournament. You'll have to pick a map from the ones listed.
