Everything that is must be created, or how has it become into existance without being created?

God came to me in a vision last night. I'm not meant to reveal my purpose yet, but I have completely changed my mind on this subject. I now totally agree with all the superstitious, science deniers.

the 2nd law of thermodynamics and the inability to transcend infinity eliminate the possibility that the universe (as we know it with time and 3D space) always was.xelabale wrote:It always wasMerker wrote:Everything that is must be created, or how has it become into existance without being created?
1) Entropy increases and eventually all usable energy to do work is gone. Since there is still usable energy and only a finite amount, it is not all used up so therefore it is not been around forever.
2) If the universe always existed then it has existed for an infinite time in the past. Since there is no beginning, how long would it take to get from that no beginning to right now? An infinite amount of time. Can an infinite amount of time happen? no. It would take forever to get to this point in time. However, we are here. SO an infinite amount of time has not taken place yet, thus the universe is not forever old (the universe as we know it time and 3D space). Here is a good pager that does a good job explaining my statement above.. http://www.hoshuha.com/articles/existence.html

Why should the universe have always been as we know it with time and 3d space?WidowMakers wrote:the 2nd law of thermodynamics and the inability to transcend infinity eliminate the possibility that the universe (as we know it with time and 3D space) always was.xelabale wrote:It always wasMerker wrote:Everything that is must be created, or how has it become into existance without being created?

You're saying there was a time when there was no time? Then where did the time come from?xelabale wrote:Why should the universe have always been as we know it with time and 3d space?WidowMakers wrote:the 2nd law of thermodynamics and the inability to transcend infinity eliminate the possibility that the universe (as we know it with time and 3D space) always was.xelabale wrote:It always wasMerker wrote:Everything that is must be created, or how has it become into existance without being created?
Re: Logic dictates that there is a God!
From when there was no time.
Re: Logic dictates that there is a God!
We're pretty sure our universe started with a big bang, but that doesn't mean there wasn't a universe before that one, and that one ad infinitum. This doesn't break any physics rules except that physics breaks down at the singularity as by our current calculations the singularity must be infinitely small and infinitely heavy.
Our physics can't handle infinity whilst predicting infinity, and yet you tell me our physics precludes something existing for infinity amount of time?
That's just weird.

Re: Logic dictates that there is a God!
Yeah, didn't you know that "if we don't understand it" that is proof there is god. Been that way since the first of our ancestors in Africa. We are wired to find purpose in everything, absolutely everything, regardless the truth.

Wrong. Facts are only that which has been proven. If you cannot prove it, it is not a fact.JoshyBoy wrote:I don't have to prove a fact. It's a fact. Facts don't need proving.![]()

Which gives all you Christians a problem.
If the existence of god is self-evident and easily provben, then you don't need faith.
And without faith you can't get into heaven,
Kind of a catch-666.

"Our physics"...kinda funny. Like we have patented it or something. Our physics is just a very small subset of the truth (with a little bit of "wrong!" mixed in).xelabale wrote:We're pretty sure our universe started with a big bang, but that doesn't mean there wasn't a universe before that one, and that one ad infinitum. That idea of "we can't be here if it took an infinite amount of time because an infinite amount of time couldn't have passed yet" that WidowMakers said just demonstrates that we can't get our minds around ideas like infinity. We learn about a number line ...,-3,-2,-1,0,1,2,3,... and nod our heads and say "I get it" but then someone comes along and says "1 could never happen because it would taken an infinite amount of counting to get to 1" and we nod our heads and say "I get it". No people, we don't get it.

The existance of God is self-evident to those who wish to see. This is not science, it is faith. They are both logical in their own way, but that "way" is very, very different for each.jonesthecurl wrote: If the existence of god is self-evident and easily provben, then you don't need faith.

And wouldn't you know evolution falls into this category.
The problem is I do not put as much faith into science as you. Science, after all, is man. And we have tons of examples of how inept man is. Let's look at one specific area within science that indicates that the reliability of science should always be questioned.
Global warming. Now,(1) there are scientists who say it is real and man made, and (2)there are scientists who say it is real but man had nothing to do with it, and (3)then there are scientists who say GW is bunk, that it is a cycle, and we can't prevent it.
I'll take curtain #3.
