Re: What are your Top 3 Favourite Maps?
i play mostly doubles, so my favorite maps are based on maps that are
fun for team play... furthermore, i dislike all the conquest maps, as everyone uses pretty
much the same strategy. i don't play 1v1 very often, too much luck. and of course i play
mostly sequential/no spoils (because freestyle is just a cheat fest). with that in mind, here
is my list of my 3 favorite maps and a quick reason why...
world 2.1 - still the best map to slug it out with strategy
age of merchants - DiM changed the concept of maps on the site with this one
bamboo jack - a very simple and fun map that most people don't seem to grasp!!
there are many others that i enjoy to play for various reason. but when i go to start a game with a partner, these are the ones that immediately pop into my head...-0
p.s.-qwert has some beautiful maps, and i wish i could have included the Soviet Union map in the list, but it said three!!

I agree with Owen...of course most of the doubles games are with me so that makes sense.
Maps 4-6 however have to be:
4. Soviet Union
5. Arctic- I rarely win on it, but just think it is cool
6. Civil War-nothing is better than playing CC with a little GnR in the background.

it is kind of interesting that we both like soviet and arctic... you really love civil war, and we rarelyjbrettlip wrote:I

play it, and i'm not quite sure why we don't. it is a fun map, maybe i just had some bad luck while
learning it... great choices... arctic is so much fun, you think you have someone crushed, and then
you lose in 2 rounds... ha!-0

Re: What are your Top 3 Favourite Maps?
No. 3 Europe
The 48 regions can be nicely split for 3, 4, 6 & 8 players. It's beautiful designed. Only bad thing are some of the names. The BeNeLux is called Belgium, Former Yugoslavia is called Croatia and also Estonia & Slovakia are names that could be better.
No. 2 World 2.1
I guess it's the ultimate map for world-conquering. Lot's of regions and bonuses which make it a superb map for more player games.
No. 1 Saint Patricks Day
Strange enough my best map. It took me up to Colonel and the No. 1 spot at the Top 10 Individual Map Ranks. And of course everybody loves those Leprechauns, especially the one with the pint of Guinness. It's a shame the map is closed, otherwise I would be Conqueror now.

But, other than AOR 2, it really varies.
