Wars like that are for territorial and power gains. Theres no need to conquer new territory in such a globalized world. To get natural resources (maybe oil, but if it becomes unstable enough people will start back pedaling and start looking into alternatives a lot more seriously) we can trade services, which there is rarely a shortage of and you don't need land for it.

as far as power's concerned, the MAD theory (Mutually Assured Destruction) means that there won't be anything worth controlling. It says that if we get into a large scale war, ONE of the countries will fire a nuke (probably the losing country when its close to being overtaken) which will prompt a retaliatory strike by the others. If the nuclear war doesn't kill us all, Nuclear winter will. If you're going to try and take power, you probably already know about this and won't bother going about it though a world war.

Most sensible and intellegant post yet. Another global war in the way people are describing it here is generally seen as ridiculous by those who study international relationships and politics.

you forget that N.korea has closed borders and wont accept anything from other countries and i doubt communist china will accept much off capitalists. And both countries would want to prove their military might to the world

China are pretty much the only power holding N. Korea in check and have been for a while. They're just as much under Chinese hegemony as most of the other small asian states. Only difference is they're not accepting western influence to such a highd degree.

So far, the US has supported (in as far as not interfering) China as it keeps the other Asian countries in check whilst posing no major threat to the outside world. Problem is they've become too economivally intertwined. Any WW3 will be waged on an economic not military level.

You're an idiot and should read about China's non-reliance on foreign nations as far as resources go. They aren't depending on the US to support their nation. Where do you get these ideas, from the stupid saying that everything in the US is made in China? I would say that none of the nations with nuclear bombs depend on other nations to the point where if they lost trade they would collapse.

I thinkt that WW3 will start close to when everyone gets a chip in their rist or their forehead and that all the countries will be against Israel, and I think it's going to happen werry soon.
I don't now how true it is but I saw on fahrenheit 9/11 by Michael Moore that Saudi Arabia and maybe some other arabic countries have allot of money in the USA and if they would take that out of the banks the USA would go bankrubed, so what if the middle east countries( exept for Israel) want to destroi Israel and now can use the USA to help? And seeing that the USA is a superpower and the middle eastern countries have control over the USA the EU and it's allies could back uop the USA and the iddle east against Israel.
Also about Isael attacking Iran, I'm sure they are going to do it, there was an article a few weeks ago about that and I remember there was said that Israel wanted to do this attack because Iran could make their own atom bomb in about two years. I think that is israel lanches this attack it could be the trigger to the war.

Reading through some of the ker-ray-zee scenarios in this thread, it occurs to me that it might be an idea to start one of those "story" threads - you know, where each poster adds four words at a time - but with a WWIII theme.

The end result would probably have about as much chance of happening as anything else on here!

Why does WWIII automagically become Armageddon? Isn't it possible that the mark of the beast is a metaphor and not some dire prediction about mandatory chip implants and such?

I would suspect because an interpretation of parts of the bible is the elimination of all followers of Jesus just before he comes back.

Due to the fact they are spread all over the world all most as much as "christians" and their churches. It would seem possible (to some I suppose probable) that there will be a world war while they are being eliminated.

Therefore you will allways have people thinking the next world war is armageddon.

It doesn't seem like much of a metaphor though it's not precisely clear what it is.

What was written is it's a human number, you will need it to buy and sell and it is either "six hundred and sixty-six" or posibly 616.
