Dice Roll calculations
A man has actually calculated the chances to win a battle, for most situations 1v1, 1v2, 2v2 2v1, etc.
The results are at the bottom of the page, thought that this would be useful for all risk players.

Very impressive, did he actually get a medal for that.... A lot of people did that, if you search the forum there are at least 20 posts with those odds, and another 20 links to similar we pages.Russianfire8371 wrote:A man has actually calculated the chances to win a battle, for most situations 1v1, 1v2, 2v2 2v1, etc.

The odds are all bull shit.. I have played alot of Risk, Risk 2110 and Axis & Allies and never seen the kinda crap that happens in this game. I would have to say that I see the odds happen about 40% of the time, you get screw 55% of the time and 5 % of the time you actually get good rolls. I try speaking to the main people here and they just brush me off and refuse to acknowledge that there may be a problem when I don't know how many people are complaining about the same problem. The only time I find that the odds COULD be in my favor is when I am attacking one unit with more than 3... even then, I will try a run, get through three places and then the 4th I will lose 4 armies to kill one.
I am just about at my quiting point with this game.. I know I just sound like another complaint but I paid the 20 bucks to play this game and for the most part I leave more frustrated then happy. I am just one person, but if this continues, other valued players will also leave and this site will become just another joke.

Have you read the threads with the dice analyzer and all the work done by people to analyze the 'randomness' of the dice?TFA-LAPDANCE wrote:The odds are all bull shit.. If so, what exactly do you think is wrong with the dice? If you point out a specific fault you might be able to help correct a problem. However I think that if you install the dice analyzer you will find that the long term trend reflects the expected probabilities. It has for everyone else and I doubt yours will be any different.
That being said, the dice analyzer does nothing to look at the short term trends to see if they match the expected distribution. I would try to look at that myself but I don't have the ability to create such a program.
Anyway, there has been much debate and conversation over how random the dice are. If you don't believe they are, I encourage you to find out how the dice rolls are actually calculated and point out where the problem exists. I have done this and I can't see how the dice could be flawed.
It should be noted that it is impossible to create a program that creates true randomness, because the program is invariably based on logic....but the random number generators that exists these days are EXTREMELY close.
