My favourite settings used to be standard, freestyle, escalating, chained, speed with no fog (lights on). The missus was OK with that for a while but after talking to her friends then insisted that future games be changed to casual duration and she wasn’t so keen on chained. I’m always open to change but was stuck on speed setting and the game status was going from active to finished too quickly for her liking. I suggested that if she selected Brazil it may improve things from my side but this resulted in her resetting the map to Forbidden City and I cant play that map. Relationships are all about compromise so I then proposed that we change from private games to public and even offered to set up a team game on Triple Alliance game to teach her girlfriends. The map setting was immediately changed to Duck and Cover, terminator and I was gone without even getting one roll. I did what I normally do in times of trouble and went out for a few ales. On returning that night I could only play flat rate games and even then I deadbeated out of the match. She doesn’t like flat rate and about once a month she tells me she can only get red sets and doesn’t want to play real games. Not being allowed to use my plugins I had to innovate. I offered to customise the settings and play an oral game, even promising no spoils….she agreed to run with this but I got confused and changed to escalating at the end and my connection was cut off when I cashed my final set. I received a very poor rating from that game – straight 1s (tags - reckless/bad team mate). In a final attempt to get another game started I gave her the option of an assassin game but she didn’t read the whole word and now I have a ban. Things aren’t good now and I find myself playing lots of Arms Race singles……..
