That would be unnecessarily unfair to the people in group 1, which would have better players and thus be harder to win. It would be better to alternate like this: 1, 2, 2, 1, 1, 2, 2, 1, 1, 2, 2, 1, 1, 2, 2, 1. This can be generalized to n groups by placing the first n players in groups 1 to n in that order, then placing the next n players in groups n to 1 in that order, and keep alternating between going from 1 to n and from n to 1 until the groups are full, e.g. for n = 4: 1, 2, 3, 4, 4, 3, 2, 1, 1, 2, 3, 4, 4, 3, 2, 1, ...As an example, in semifinals phase, group 1 will be assigned players ranked 1st,3st,5th,7th,10th,12th,14th, and 16th. And group 2 will be assigned players 2nd,4th,6th,8th,9th,11th,13th, and 15th.

I don't think that there is a problem for the first rounds, but if both of you happen to reach finals or semifinals, then you should unfoe each other temporalyGenoke wrote:Hello there,

Re: The winner takes only a bit (246/256) [Premium Prize!]
Just finished registering all the new players in the thread. We reached 246! I think this means that the tournament is about to begin.
First I will review my PMs to see if I have some more inscriptions. After that I will update the players list (for the ones that didn't find it, is in post #2, in the first page. Hidden in a "spoils" section).
The tournament will begin on April Wednesday 22nd, 7 days from now.
You can still join. I am accepting reserves. Also, if we reached certain threshold of players, I will add a Round 0.
288 --> I will add a Round 0 in which the top 7 players of each group will pass
336 --> I will add a Round 0 in which the top 6 players of each group will pass
408 --> I will add a Round 0 in which the top 5 players of each group will pass
512 --> I will add a Round 0 in which the top 4 players of each group will pass
However, I will start next April 22nd with wathever number of players we have.
