Teaching mode

Post by jonka »

I think that it would really would increase new player retention/lower the learning curve of new players if players of a certain rank were able to create teaching games for certain things, They should be able to write in what they specifically will help you in as well (newbies, starting stratagy, ect.). You would be able to leave a game, or the host could disband it at any time. But basicly, the host would be able to reinforce any territory, or decrease troops from a territory, as well as change possession of a territory, and see all messages. It would work as a classroom type setup, where players could specifically practice any situation.

An interesting suggestion jonka.

Whilst it is not what your suggestion describes, have you seen the Society of Cooks forum? It is a forum dedicated to new players improving their game. Their are hidden private 'classroom' forums where tactics and moves are openly discussed to assist new players in improving their play.

Although we do not do it for all type of games. We teach the basics on the Classic Shapes with the format terminator escalating unlimited fort 6 or 7 player.

These basics drift over to use in standard games but gives instant points as you terminate someone. You learn as you play.

What this means is you post a game when it is your turn and what you think you should do. Then 1 of the teachers posts what he would do instead and why. You then do your way or Our way.

Seems to help for the most part.
