Melee (from the French mêlée) generally refers to disorganized close combat involving a group of fighters. A melee ensues when groups become locked together in combat with no regard to group tactics or fighting as an organized unit; each participant fights as an individual.
This is based around my "Melee" tournament, only in this case it's games with the "Assassin" setting. Short tourney, trying to see how well this format will work with my "Melee" theme
Same maps as the previous tournament(with one less round), as well as settings with these exceptions: No teams & ALL GAMES WILL BE FOGGY. This should cover the "Melee" theme quite nicely You'll have to be careful not to kill anyone other than YOUR target, but who knows what will happen in a melee?
Only the winner of the game will advance to the next round. It's truly every "man" for themselves....Who will survive the "Melee"?
Requirements: One open game spot throughout your participation At least a 94% turn ratio
Here's how the rounds will go:
96 players to start
Round I: 32 - Three player games Feudal Wars: Assassin, Sequential, Escalating, Chained, FoW
Round II: 8 - 4 player games Mongol Empire: Assassin, Sequential, Flat-rate, Chained, FoW Winners advance to the final "Melee"
Round III, Final: 1 - Eight player free-for-all game for the win NYC: Assassin, Freestyle, Escalating, Chained, FoW
**Regarding the final game: Now I know that there are many of us that don't like to play "Freestyle", but a melee is defined as "a free-for-all close-quarter fight", and playing freestyle fits perfectly. This allows for an unpredictable outcome as would happen in an actual melee.**
