I would suggest hedging on something different than quenched maps. Half the Forge is stalled for need of good updates, and only 2-3 are quench-ready. Lack likely wants a little bit of "diffusion" time with the new maps before he uploads more.

Overall, I can't help feeling that the two largest sections of this newsletter (Tournaments and Foundry) are done better by far by the Newsletters dedicated to those sections. Instead of trying to "cover it all", maybe scaling back off of the already-covered and pointing links at the other newsletters would be best. Otherwise, you're either copying material outright, saying the same stuff a different way, or left with so little material it's barely worth publishing.

That critique said, the rest of the Newsletter looks really good and should provide welcome coverage of "The Other" parts of the CC forum that sometimes get ignored.

Tac, I agree. The problem is, those subforums are so large that in their own Newsletters they cover more, because they have more space. What I tried to do was go more into the Foundry Discussion, where there's definitely a lot of turmoil about CAs and advancing. But, that's only so much ā€¦. I agree wholeheartedly with your idea to place links to the Newsletters devoted solely to those sections ā€” I'll talk to nobody (HA it's a punā€¦).

Q: What sort of movies/films do you like?

A: Action/Adventure usually. I hate gore.

Q: Who really won the 2000 election?

A: Bush

This had to be the best series of questions known to man. Partly because I gave the second question.

The irony between the link of the answers ā€¦ hahaha

Sam, you should make a new thread for the second issue

It was twills request that we stick with the one newsletter thread and update it fortnightly. Better than filling GD with alot of redundant threads :)

samuelc812 wrote:Now, where was I?...oh yes....I wandered down into C&A and of course, like clockwork, there was that unofficial Multi hunter and anti hero, JR, posting up another couple of suspects. Sailorseal bravely put the point forward that our JR needed more evidence than that posted. JR responded with "over 100 busted and I never been wrong ;)". Now at this point those of us who know the way JR operates would shrug and move on, assuming another bust was happening soon. But this time a little discussion took place that left me wondering. After sailor posted, Bones (weren't you on Star Trek?) pointed out that the previous time JR had made such a claim he was proved wrong, but anyway, the suspects were most probably guilty all the same. JR, with superb aplomb, ignores this and repeats that nobody has ever proven him wrong. Now another couple of posts goes by, then sailor returns. However, this time he says "these are multis..". Then the very next post comes in from king achilles with the simple word busted. Now what I want to know is what made sailor change his mind? Is there something we should be told? Do we care?

OMG I want whoever wrote that given a medal! :D

Why is there a article on cheating and abuse? I thought there was a long debate and the final decision was no?

and so I don't clog up the the thread I will just add that I want a subscription. If that is how it works or do I just have to read this every fortnight?

The decision was no regular article every week for C&A, if the Fruit-man wants to comment on any area, I'm sure he will.

Do you still have a copy of issue #1 somewhere? It would be a shame to lose all that hard work... and people may wish to refer back to something from a previous edition :-k

Good work though chaps ;-)

Community Competitions are something that i have wanted to run for a while now, and finally the day has come. These competitions will be run through this newsletter, and can last up to 3 months at time. They will not be complicated, so everyone can be involved and participate if they wish.

General Outline
So basically over the next 2 weeks the newsletter will be taking sign-ups for our very first competition.

Taking sign ups - WHERE?
The lowest rank: Question Mark
The lowest score: 1000
The lowest place on the scoreboard: don't remember

You should post each edition in the thread and edit it into the head post.
