the whole idea of it is a huge map with no bonusessailorseal wrote:So confusing! No bonuses! Come on julien! Add bonuses, make it less confusing make more mountains.
Cool idea!
since there are no bonuses, there is no regional color, do you think that i should just try my best to make it look more like an island or something, like the beaches, the grasslandy parts, some sand stuff, still with no bonuseshecter wrote:New name and more colour. Other than that, very nice.

ya i know, i'll add some colorhecter wrote:I know there isn't any bonuses, but there just needs to be some variety. Allow you to see what's going on better, otherwise it's pretty boring and tedious...
i am adding some grasslands, and a mountain, and whatever else i think ofminiwally wrote:this needs to be a lot better graphically it's just so bland

having autodeploys would take away from the whole idea. I was thinking of making it for every 2 places u own u get +1 instead of 3 places, this map is not luck, it is mostly stradegy, you need to think to urself how fast am i going to spread? or am i just going to build up? there are many different ways a game on this kind of board could goj35t3r.us wrote:HUGE number of territories plus neuts on all territories plus NO BONUSES = all luck and no skill...
Turn One:
Player 1: Deploys 3 troops, and says go.
Player 2: Deploys 3 troops and attacks one territory and fails...
Player 3: Deploys 3 troops, attacks a territory and doesn't lose one troop, attacks another territory and doesn't lose one...
Player 4: Deploys 3 troops, attacks one territory and succeeds but doesn't go for another territory.
etc etc....
If you're going for HUGE MAP with the most territories Conquer Club has ever seen.... Go for 150+ territs, and have AUTO deploy on some.
Perhaps 2-3 Neuts on every territory, 4-5 on certain ones that give +1 or +2 auto deploy.
Maybe Starting territories auto-deploy 1 per turn. And the Center territory that everyone wants to get auto deploys 2 per turn, perhaps also have 8 other territories around the map(1 for each person) that are auto-deploy 1 per turn.
Thoughts?
lol I actually have an idea for something like this... but its gonna have to wait awhile if it wants to see the light of day (or night lolj35t3r.us wrote:HUGE number of territories plus neuts on all territories plus NO BONUSES = all luck and no skill...

well a lot of maps depend on dice, for example, doodle earth 1v1, if you get to a point where your just deploying attacking and stopping, and you and ur temmate only have 1 piece on each territ, its all about the luck of the dice, i just don't see the problem with no bonusesustus wrote:I gotta agree, lots of luck involved with everyone starting on one terit, since anyone's advancement is going to depend on the rolls of the dice. there is the strategy in stay or go, but it is going to end up coming down to dice too much for my tastes. no matter how cool the map is, i won't play it beyond the novelty of the new map. i think you're better off starting with more terits and getting bonuses. but that's just my opinion. don't let me just trash your ideas. just make sure you think about how much the dice really control. whatever works, I'm still happy to see some enthusiasm for large maps.
no bonuses is only a problem by oppinion, not because it's actually worse, but because the people who have commented so far want to play maps with bonuses. We can go away and leave your map alone if that's what you want to do, but this isn't the map we want to see. Most of us were drawn here because your idea of a huge map appealed, and we're telling you what we want to see, not necessarily what's good or bad.LED ZEPPELINER wrote:well a lot of maps depend on dice, for example, doodle earth 1v1, if you get to a point where your just deploying attacking and stopping, and you and ur temmate only have 1 piece on each territ, its all about the luck of the dice, i just don't see the problem with no bonusesustus wrote:I gotta agree, lots of luck involved with everyone starting on one terit, since anyone's advancement is going to depend on the rolls of the dice. there is the strategy in stay or go, but it is going to end up coming down to dice too much for my tastes. no matter how cool the map is, i won't play it beyond the novelty of the new map. i think you're better off starting with more terits and getting bonuses. but that's just my opinion. don't let me just trash your ideas. just make sure you think about how much the dice really control. whatever works, I'm still happy to see some enthusiasm for large maps.
Agreed! Add bonuses or this map fails...j35t3r.us wrote:HUGE number of territories plus neuts on all territories plus NO BONUSES = all luck and no skill...
