and i just found out that the numbers refer to when you start from the top left and work right then down like a book, lol

Sheesh, I thought it was fairly creative, especially given the inherent connotations of the word in itself. Obviously this was not conveyed. Feel free to remove it if it's that horrible.

Actually its 5 down!!! We were all wrong, check it out, starting with the top row it is the 5th Vertical set. Also since when do you need to have a connection in crossword before you can fill in another one?

The acrosses, and the downs work on the same numbering system, so there will be a 1-down, but not a 1-across. do you follow yet? As to your question. well i guess its CC style crossword rules.
