add link to old GF'er, and Game # search box to Game Menu

Post by scottp »

Improvements to Game Finder options
  • Bring back the old game finder page as a separate link, for those who prefered it.
  • On the Game Menu (Left column of most pages) add a Quick Search by Game # box right under the "Game Finder" link. Saves one page load.
Specifics:
  • I liked searching for games with a set of maps and Saved Searches did it wonderfully. That doesn't work now, I have to scroll thru the list and Ctrl+click on my faves. I never bother with that, just use a saved search for the game type i want (2 players, doubles, whatever) and get the results for ALL maps. Would be nice not to see the 30 AOR games before I get to something I'm interested in...
  • When I've got a game number on the clipboard, it would be nice to be able to paste it in a box on the standard left column menu for a quick search for that game, rather than having to load the game finder to do it. Alternately, at least have the cursor default to the game number box on the Game Finder page. Would speed things up when joining team games, etc.
This will improve the following aspects of the site:
  • ease of use improved. THANKS!

I think this is a good suggesetion for people that want the old game finder, and, from the previous suggestions implemented on the site, has a good chance of being done.
