But even if the dice suck, do they not suck for everyone? That would mean that no matter how screwed up the dice are, its fair, because everyone plays with the same dice.

Get Dice Analyzer. It will track how (un)lucky your dice are and compare it to how they should be. Wait until you've recorded at least a few thousand rolls, and then, if you still think the dice suck, you can complain.
Attacker threw 5600 dice.
Defender threw 3037 dice.
3v2 █████████████████████████ 400 / 334 / 338 (37.31% / 31.16% / 31.53%) (37.17% / 33.58% / 29.26%)
Like that? Can I complain, then? Right.. after over 8.600 dice being thrown, it is not even, the defence have an unnatural advantage, actuall extra 10% (29,26% would be 303 double defence). I managed to get above cook again, even with the overall bad rolls, due to my poor strategies, but it is not easy, I can say....

the new dice suck, pressing auto attack no matter how many men you have is like suicide. I agree with maybe giving a little advantage to the defender, but this is ridiculous
Re: 'all new' intensity cubes complaints (merged)
He had 7 troops on Bastgne prior to this.2009-01-29 14:27:27 - jofra receives 1 troops for holding Luxembourg
2009-01-29 14:27:27 - jofra receives 3 troops for 9 regions
2009-01-29 14:27:35 - jofra cashed in a group of Vlaams, Vlaams Ardennen, and Flevoland worth 6 troops
2009-01-29 14:27:49 - jofra deployed 10 troops on Bastogne
2009-01-29 14:27:57 - jofra assaulted Liège from Bastogne and conquered it from RADAGA
2009-01-29 14:28:05 - jofra assaulted Wallon from Liège and conquered it from RADAGA
2009-01-29 14:28:17 - jofra reinforced Bastogne with 8 troops from Liège
2009-01-29 14:28:24 - jofra gets spoils
so he got a total of 17.
He assaulted Liege, that was defended by 4
Then he assaulted Wallon, defended by 7
he left 2 on wallon, and 1 on liege, and pulled back 8 to bastogne, plus the 1 already there.
So he got 17 troops, fought and conquered 11 troops and lost ONLY A MEAGER FIVE in the process.
This of course have NOTHING to do with streaks .. this game have NO STREAKS, no dice here EVER get stuck, thats why there is NO difference between AUTO ATTACK and normal attacks, since dice WONT GET STUCK with straight victores or straight defeats, you can ALWAYS TRUST the dice to behave like they should...
Oh, wait.. I was dreaming the last paragraph... Real life is not like that. Even you defenders of the system know that, so you advice to never autoattack, because you know it gets stuck often.
HOW CAN WE POSSIBLY HOLD ON A TRUE STRATEGY IF ANYONE CAN GET "LUCKY" AND BEAT A WALL OF 5000 ARMIES WITH A STACK OF 4, GIVEN THE RIGHT TIMING TO GET A POSITIVE STREAK?
And dont tell me it happens. If it did, once in every DAY someone would walk out a cassino in vegas a millionaire by betting straight in "reds" or "blacks" in the roulette for a full day.
THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN, NOT IN TRUE RANDOM SYSTEMS! Happens here, daily.

Two games, just right now.
One, I got 6x4 and 5x3 ... ended them 2x4 and 2x2
The other, 9x6 .. ended 2x5
typical...
Before that? Got some nice wins. .. a flawless 8x6 and another flawless 6x4 ....
Interesting, one rarely get a balanced combat here.. say, win 35%, loose 30% tie 35% ....
You either massacre the opposition, or get butchered yourself. All due to the STREAKS of dice... good and bad....

Re: broken dice?
Actually, I was speaking to Sasha Grey who cited "3 or 4" games as evidence that the dice were screwed up. Seeing as how you have actual statistics, yes, of course you can complain. You lost 338 rolls when really you should only have lost 314, a total loss of 24 rolls (of course, you also won 2 extra rolls that, had the dice been perfectly even, you wouldn't have.) I think that, while this certainly proves that the dice are unequal, it doesn't prove that they're not random. You've merely had bad luck which happens often with random numbers.RADAGA wrote:Overall statsBlinkadyblink wrote:http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewto ... =59&t=5655

Blink, this is no time for sense and rationale. Since your last post of stats, this is how your rolls have gone:RADAGA wrote:3v2 █████████████████████████ 461 / 379 / 385 (37.63% / 30.94% / 31.43%) (37.17% / 33.58% / 29.26%)Joodoo wrote: I prefer poker...

3v2 - 61 / 45 / 47 (39.87% / 29.41% / 30.72%)
So, you've gotten:
1.46% more than average for double loss
4.17% less than average for tie
2.70% more than average for double win
In other words, your dice have gotten better. To point out why I'm writing this, I will re-quote you from above:
I'll save you the invective...I dont think so.. they tend to get worse...
Re: 'all new' intensity cubes complaints (merged)
Still, the number of losses are greatly enhanced from what they should have been.
And dont even let me get started on my 3x1 that started to go over the border after the past 10x1 that went to the void, 5 minutes ago.
But for those who hate me, alas, the cook seems to be adapting.
*checks* ups, not a cook anymore....

DICE ARE RANDOM. YEAH RIGHT.
No way are the dice random. Yeah they're random but there's only 5's & 6's on them. Statistically speaking there's no possible way that the dice can roll the way they do. Went up against a player 17 me 2 him and watched double 6's come up 5 times straight. Yeah random. This ruins games. Games into round 15 are now nothing more then a waste of time. Should i play countless games on the same map over and over again like the players at the top of the leader board to get points? What fun is that.

Re: DICE ARE RANDOM. YEAH RIGHT.
If the dice are not random like you say then wouldn't they also affect those at the top of the scoreboard and everyone else just the same and therefore even itself out. Or are you suggesting that higher ranked people get better dice, because that would be just plain wrong.
Re: 'all new' intensity cubes complaints (merged)
AND of course, after gaining a few points, the game started to act up again.
10x3 .. ended 6x3 .. reinforced with 2 ...
the opponent attacks the now 8-armies territory, with the 3 I was unable to conquer.. results? 3x8 ... ends up 1x2 .... so on a 2x2 he managed to almost get the land.... and will surely get it next round, of course.
ALL within possibilities.. yes. The same way a fully black or a fully white TV screen is possible, when you see a static screen.
How many of you have seen a fully white or a fully black screen on such situation?
HOW COME YOU NEVER SEEN? there are millions of televisions in the world, and they are all syntonized for millions of seconds in static channels, once in a while. It surely MUST happen several times a day, and people are BOUND to see blank / white screens!
the world is wrong, fix it!

I have to agree with destroyer, I have seen multiple times the defender get double 6's in a row, and it barely happens for the attacker.Destroyers Inc. wrote:No way are the dice random. I have been playing risk for 20+ years and have developed excellent stratagies for playing, as well I own RISK II on disk and have wraped it on numerous times, it uses radom number generation for dice rolls, and never ran into this problem. I have watched my rolls and seen as a matter of fact that if I roll against a higher level player, or a member(i'm not yet), then the rolls come out consistantly against, ie 14-3. When I play equal or lower level and non-member, such as myself, the rolls come out more evenly as one would expect. If numbers are grabbed from another site that would be the problem, and the only way to fix it is to build a random number generator into the game. Also I've tried waiting between rolls, switching between attackers, to no avale.
